I back cast heavy weights and bait, good caster can cast further than someone standing in water trying to cast due to drop off and better form from beach.

I always use Daiwa reels the SHA with break fitted. I use red blocks flat side out. Love those reels as they stand up to the punishment very well. Nice to here the Cods back. Regards Nick

I have not seen the rods but will check them out. A lot of stuff in the USA and UK are different. My name is Nick Meyer I used to own the Windsurfing School on the beach opposite the old Cavendish pub. Roger Mortimore and I was at school together he was younger. Dave had a great trip here in Texas but he did get dehydrated because of too much beer. :-)Regards Nick.

I fish the Deben, right up to the Ferry, on my boat, bass are a bit scarce this year.

Nick have you seen those huge 18' Shakespeare rods named ''K2 Sports Team Extreme LDC'' if you have seen them whats your opinion please?

I am not sure but I always prefer to have one with me. Fished a lot of beaches and it really is an asset to be able to reach out. I love fishing light with lures in the first gut but sometimes you just have to work at distance to get the fish. We used to catch Bass at Landguard but the best one I had over 11lb was at the Ferry on the bar. Glad you liked the music and the vids, I will get some more up soon. Nick

Nick do you think long rods and long casting has its place on all surf beaches, the world over? out in Oz we used to fish close in, we'd try and find guts/gullies, i'm sure bigger fish lurked behind the surf breakers.

P.S blanked at Felixstowe last night, the bass keep eluding me, we had some great spring cod this year right up to June, decent size too...

?? Why you clip not the hook but the loop of the line?

By suing the loop it allows us to cast bigger and softer baits. If using the hook to the impact it can effect the bait presentation. This also is a far better hook presentation as well using the loop instead on a knot allows the hook to set better in the fishes mouth as the hook has more movement.

I had thought about this feature but I was not sure of this, try as soon as this type of solution because I think it is an excellent solution to present the bait.
