  • you should put the rhineland arms stock set on that psl...definitely worth every penny if you're looking to make that psl sing....handloading helps too...people are always bashing the psl...but anything that'll do 1 - 1 1/2 moa at 100 yrds with junk ammo is well worth the money in my opinion...kalinka optics also sells way better optics for this also..

  • Great video Thanks!

  • This was my weapon during my time as prof military.

We also had incendiary ammo for it, but we were not supposed to talk about it,lol

Its very strong and very accurate in deed and it works no matter what you do to her.

We used to carry it around all over the swamps and forests trough mud and dirt and it was still very accurate when reaching the shooting range. The scope rocks.

The 1907 model ammo is one of the strongest for this class of rifles.

    Thank's for the vid mate.

  • Good video...I'd have thought it was a Dragunov...I just heard about these...I didnt know they made a 762x54....Good info---thanks

  • Well said sir.

Did that PSL come with that scope?

  • So wait? So your not russian?? haha

  • YAY,someone that knows the difference between a PSL and a Dragunov..finally! LOL.I'm posting a video responce of mine called "Rantin' & Ravin' #19 - Cycle Of Ignorance_The Difference Between The PSL-54c & The Dragunov" check it out man!

  • This guy is a real condescending cunt!

  • @MMF031 After all the call of duty kids and their so called knowledge you would become a condescending cunt yourself. This was a long time ago and I simply got fed up with the teenybopper bullshit I was recieving telling me I didn't know what gun I had. Condescending? Perhaps. You still watched and took time out of your life to comment though so I did my job and for the view I thank you even if you don't like how I delivered my message.

  • I saw the first vid after this. I didn't hear any incorrect statements. Trolls just troll, man, regardless.

I just bought one in California, unfired and imported. Private sale, $700 (a steal). These are very rare over here.

  • Congrats! and you gotta ignore idiots. As a small arms weapon specialist and a firearms instructor and dealer. i think you know what your talking about. Hey sometimes ppl learn one thing about firearms and think there smart. btw i like the full russian gear!

  • Keep the faith! Great video! Have a great day!!

  • Rock on brother!

  • who the fuck cares its just a gun

  • It's not the Rifle it's the shooter :D

    Nice vid :)

  • is a wasr 10 worth buying

and whats your opinion on a milled or stamped receiver

  • @jonnychaos313 No experience on the those, but the milled reciever is def. more desirable than a stamped. Much stronger, more durable, more robust. Higher quality all around. Heavier though.

  • @jonnychaos313 yes. i have 2. never fails to fire. and feeds all ammunition and magazines i feed it. as for stamped vs. milled, no differences really. the milled may be a tit more sturdy. but the heavier reciever retains heat longer than the stamped. but, if you buy a romanian ak variant, before you buy, look at the sight/gas blocks. MAKE SURE they are not out of alignment(aka canted). also make sure they were made in the cugir arsenal(best ones) and not a cheap century build. hope this helps.

  • @jonnychaos313 own one myself with over 2k rds through it. i accurantlly shoot clay pigeons on the backstop mound at 100yrd open sighting with it still. great first ak exspecially for the price. Milled reciever were used for a short time in some variants of the ak., but most countries didnt find it effective. It was stronger but the slight advantages, increased cost of production, and added weight wasnt deemed worthy. the org ak was stamped, current Izshmash Russian ak are still stamped

  • thanx for the info bro

how much you pay and where you get it

  • Nice job with this video and explain, ty.

  • Dude I envy your knowledge and lack of ingnorance. There are very few people on youtube that talk about guns and actually know what there talking about. Most people seem like there just kid that play way to much call of duty. Please keep up the GREAT videos.

  • Goddamn man, I wish we could shoot together. You don't live anywhere near VA. do ya?

  • Comment removed

  • Over time, heavy ball 54R can "egg" or stretch the rear trunnion holes. That's about it. It doesn't happen after 5 rounds, it doesn't happen after 500 rounds, but it will happen eventually.

  • I'm considering getting one of these. I've been eyeing one at the local gunshop since I finished paying for my last rifle.

  • srry to be picky but i think its a 26.5 inch barrel

  • Kitty at 3:09

  • Do you browse /k/? You look like a 4channer dude. I don't know why.

  • I hate it when people have to be so propper,is it romainian,or is it russian?Me personally,I liked the video you did a good job its just a shame you have people who will watch, then cricise you on what you have.I watched the video and you did not call it a genuine dragunov.Good video.

  • Hey mikhail,

Correct me if I am wrong, but in the video at 3:32 you call the scope a standard PSOP. I think that one is the romanian LPS, and its the old tritium PSO variant, correct? The PSOP's are the ones illuminated by small watch batteries, and have flick switches, and I think have a different internal construction of lenses.

    Keep up the videos.

  • Russians ftw!! (After all it's still their design!!)

  • sorry man, my mistake....didn't notice the information in the description box...anyways its cool that you own a PSL instead of a fucking Dragunov (i hate the russians) and keep up the good work!

  • man, I am deeply offended by you, as a romanian citizen, when you said that Romania is a former Soviet Union republic. For your own general knoledge, Romania is part of NATO, and an ally of USA. And we're not slavs, we ar descendents of the romans, which probably you heard of too.

  • Hey man, Goddamn. I added to the description. I don't have time to correct every little error I make by making an entirely new video BUT I did place it up there in the description box.

  • @DLYviu Man calm down a little. The Allies Screwed up and let the Soviets have Eastern Europe and there probably wasn't much sympathy for the Romanians and Hungarians since they helped the Nazis. The water under the Bridge. Can you honestly say there were no Slavs in Romania before the area was affiliated with Rome? I really doubt it. Are there Roman Decendents there now? Sure.

Is Romania part of NATO now? Yes, Cool. Noone was intentionally baggin on Romania.

    Truce? I hope so.

  • @DLYviu Dude give me a fucking break. What are you some little baby that gets offended from anything.Grow some balls.

  • @DLYviu True, Romania was never part of the USSR. It was a communist bloc country which is probably what he was got mixed up with. Also, Romania joined NATO in 2004 after the fall of the soviet union.

  • Good video mate. However, one little thing is that Romania was not part of the USSR as far as we know. They are Latin Union or some sort...

  • @Jolly05 Romania was controlled by the Soviets until they pulled their troops out in 1958. The Romanians then became independent but still technically in the Warsaw Pact.

  • @politicalsheepdog

before the area was affiliated with Rome, it hadn't seen any slavs. There were living the Dacians, and they were conquered by the Romans, by the emperor Trajan in 106 AD. The slavs started appearing in my region roughly in the 6-7 century AD. We had a few slavs, but we managed to assimilate them, so we are the only eastern country speaking a neolatin language. That's why we had enough of being asociated with the slavs aka the russians.

  • And i need to watch the whole video before i comment. :(

  • Hey mikhail,

Let me go completely off topic here and say...

    How accurate are these??

How many shots can you expect untill you start losing accuracy?

IS the scope quick detach with side rails?

  • Dobreangel continued..... Ideally I would like to break my psl down completely and thoroughly clean it, have you done this before? Meaning, have you removed the inner mechanics, stock, barrel, or etc to completely clean this rifle? I would like to do this but have not been able to successfully remove the pins that retain the trigger, springs, and etc. Any recommendations let me know. thanks.

  • Hey, my romanian psl bolt does nto lock back. It does not lock back when manually set or when a mag is emptied. Occasionally it does but appears to be locking on the mag, not how it is meant to operate. Can you address this by breaking down the psl and pointing out the part thast allows the bolt to lock back leaving the ejection port open? Also, I have been having difficulty removing the rear screw on the stock, it just rotates without loosening, please recommend how to get this screw out.

  • Note: Romania has never been part of the USSR. That's why they redesigned their own rifle. Not a single part of the PSL is interchangeable with the Dragunov. Even the scope is Romanian made with Carl Zeiss optics since 1975, which shows their preference to collaborate the West.

During the Cold War Romania was abandoned by the West as a buffer zone between them and the USSR simply because of it's location. This weapon suggests their wish of not depending on USSR as much as possible.

  • Very nice comments. I own a PSL as a representative weapon in my Com-Block collection. I have some real Russian stuff, but can't afford a Russian (or even Chinese) SVD. The PSL makes the point and I'm looking forward to ringing it out at near 1000M.

  • can u buy this in CA?

  • Yeah, perfectly legal in CA as long as it it sold/shipped into State with a "Solar Tactical" mag-lock over the magazine release knob.

Or you can have a standard rifle stock put on that isn't a thumbhole.

Or, you can have it shipped into State without the mag-lock and without any buttstock/grip whatsoever. That is because the rifle without the buttstock is over 30" making it legal without any buttstock.

  • I have a PSL too, it cost about 1,000 for me. Perfect condition..a little heavy, but it's to be expected for what it is.

  • Dragunov is the the style of stock not the rifle and the dragunov you r talking about is called the "SVD" (Izmash factory made the first) and the PSL,FPK,Romak K3 are all from Romania (the Cugir factory) and there are many varients to let you know you got the right info man more power to you and keep up with the good work.

  • Very cool gun! Do the sniper versions from Romania have heavier barrels than their standard issue rifles??

  • this is a great video

  • nice video. You are exactly right about the shooter being the most important part of the equation. There are many variables that come into play with long range shooting but you labeled the most important. Live free, and shoot often. btw love the Russian gear. Jet over and out

  • Some people were being dumb asses and thought,"Holy shit,he's in a uniform with a head rap, that makes him a terrorist." That video was just a demonstration, and partly a joke, don't e so up tight.

  • Hey, little of topic in here, but I thought I'd give some advice. I was noticing in some of your videos that you store your mags in your vest right side up facing your strong side, when this is the opposite of what you should be doing. If you store the upside down facing your weak side, the natural motion of drawing them out wil have them facing right side up rounds forward so you don't need to fumble with it to get it ready to insert into the rifle.

  • Yea, fuck I'm Highly offended!!!!

  • FINALLY! Someone that is intelligent. That knows the difference between the expensive piece of crap Dragunov and the master piece PSL.Thank You

  • Yep,this guy isnt like the other retards that call it a dragunov

  • Hey man good videos, hope to be getting one of these soon

  • Ya, back to the PSL it is a nice gun, but still...Romania was NEVER in the soviet block and was not or is a satelite country...just pointing that out...back to the PSL

  • back to romanian psl nice rifle good video

  • only reason i would take the fake russian accent seriously is because romania is pretty much the definition of anti-russia in every way you could imagine

  • With all due respect ROMANIA was NEVER part of USSR - We are a small country but we were all the time an INDEPENDANT COUNTRY. PSL stands for, in Romanian - Pusca Semiautomata cu Luneta - Semiautomatic Sniper Rifle a it's a 100 percent Romanian rifle. Thanks for not considering us as a former USSR republic just because it isn't true. We're not a Slavic nation but Latin as the French, the Spanish, the Italian and the Portugese. All the best!

  • medium size country, and were actually the most latin :D

  • thanks for the Info Mikhail718, i like the videos and you provide some good information. keep it up

  • i have heard that anything over the light ball (150gr.) wil damage the weapon.... any truth to that?

  • Ive also heard that as well. I use 147 grain rounds and lighter just simply because thats what I keep on hand for my Nagants. I use much heavier rounds in my PKM because I want the punch. As far as how serious that rumor is I do not know. The RPK reciever is used in the build of the rifle so I can say with assurance that the weapon is tough as nails.

  • PSL afaik can handle light and normal military loads, ie 147gr to 155gr (this is coming from a gunsmith specialized in AK and AK-type receivers, stamped and milled. I'm not that gunsmith.).

PSL cannot fire heavy ball (180gr being an example). It will ruin the gun eventually.

  • I'll bet it would shoot outstandingly with some really well put together handloads. I'm thinking 175 gr Sierra Match Kings.

  • The ability to dump the scope if it fails and have iron sights as back up is the best way to design a precision weapon. The Eastern Bloc isn't stupid...their weapons perform exactly as they were designed.

  • may i ask where you got your spetsnaz "gear".? great vids.! :]

  • Great Video, don't worry

    about the idiots that start

    trouble especially the ones

    who don't have videos.

  • FINALLY! Someone that is intelligent. That knows the difference between the expensive piece of crap Dragunov and the master piece PSL.Thank You

  • One easy way to tell the difference at a quick glance betweenthe Romanian and the Drag, is the mag well location. the Psl (Romak, whatever) is butted against the trigger guard. The Chinese and Russian Drag is a few inches (cm) ahead of the trigger guard.

And my favorite saying is "fuck 'em if they can't take a joke."

  • damn right, some people need to calm the fuck down on youtube

  • No,people need to do their research before flapping your lips and showing how retared they are, people love to put in their two cents when they have no clue what they are talking about

  • First of all Romania was part of the Eastern Block, not part of USSR nor a satelite contry.

Secondly, the PSL has a maximum range of 3800 meters, and a killing range of also 3800 meters.(of course you need a more capable scope) The effective range is 1200-1300 meters. Trust me,I don't talk from my ass, I use this weapon on a daily basis.

  • If you look around there is a video a guy made getting about 1 MOA from a PSL. Not bad I say

  • Romania was NEVER a part of USSR, the bastards never got us, they almost did but didn't.

You should know, that mixing our country for a former slave of russia is very insulting, but I agree that you are a cool guy and you stand corrected. Respect!

  • True,Romania was part of Germany during WW2

  • Well, Romania wasn't a part of Germany during WW2. It was an ally of Germany for a period of time in that war.

  • Umm,no..go back to school pal,it was occupied by germany.

  • Ufffff... I really don't want to argue about this. Romania was an independent state during that period. To be allied with someone doesn't mean that you are occupied.

  • Whatever you uneducated loser

  • don't teach me the history of my country and learn how to talk. i bet i have more education than you. you can see that form the way you are talking.

  • If you are so educated as you pretend why don' t you watch and read what Hitler himself said about Ion Antonescu - ruler of Romania about that time. Hitler talks in very respectful terms about the Marshall personality and had admired him greatly, which was not manner Hitler usually behaved. So... take a second thought when you utter your nonsense, dickhead!

  • lmao dumbass romania was an ally to the germans we choice to be axis, i think you should go back to school im romanian and even my teacher said that romania was independent

  • Your teach is lying, hide the truth cause they dont wanna admit that were with the nazi germany.I think you better open your eyes to the truth, stop believe the lies of teachers and the government

  • wtf are you talking about!?!?!?!i know romania was witht he nazis...i think thats allooooottt better than being with the fucking allies, biggest criminals in history...they were INDEPENDENT, we had our own campaigns seperate from germany and we were attacked by them at the end, why would a country attack a country it owns....im romanian and trust me i know more than you think...frankly idk if you misunderstood

  • I also have a PSL,it is awesome.I do not know why some people have to be so anal about the PSL vs.Dragunov crap. You're good man.

  • Because they do not have a PSL. :-)

  • I wonder if it would be possible to modify the magazine well so that Dragunov mags can be used.

  • why??? Dragunov mags are isnanelly expensive here in the US. I would do it the other way around

  • Why? So you could buy 1 mag for $100+ each or use the correct mags at 4 for $60 with a pouch...

  • Do you use surplus ammo in those tins? What did you use to make those 1000 yard shots?

  • Thank you for the info because I would have made the same mistake thinking it was a dragunov.

  • great video man, I'm about to get one of these and Tokarev pistol. I love me some cheap ammo.

  • Not to take away from Mr. Mikhail's video, but I have numerous videos, about 12 on the Tokarev Pistol, Including shooting and a review/disassembly and my thoughts about it! So i figured I'd bring it up to help out a fellow shooter.

-To the actual video; Very nice weapon, I've gotten to fiddle with one before, but not shoot it, I actually really liked it.

  • romak- ?

  • romak 3

  • Only the crappy tennessee parts kits are called romak 3,FPK and dragunov, the real ones of exellent quailty are stamped PSL-54c and SSG-97

  • Romania was never part of the USSR so it can not be former USSR. I'm sure you just mis spoke.

    Rest was good info.

  • Yes, mistaked my info. Thank you for correcting me intelligently.
