See I don’t understand how you expect that gun registration to system work as explained. The husband/boy friend will just use a different weapon if he wants to kill the woman: crossbow, knife, toaster in the bathtub.
You said the woman feel safer if the cops took the guns out of the house. All that would be false sense of safety. If he was going to kill her there are many ways to do it.

For example the green party wants to ban all hand guns and semi auto rifles. Without the registry the government can't take away all our guns if they want to because they wont no where they are.
I know 5 cops they all say the same dam thing we dont use the gun registry long gun or restricted. If a cop relied on the registry they would be quite stupied because if they went into a house and assumed there where no guns they could be shot.
the more a person know's about guns and the laws that apply to them the more that person realise how ussless the gun registry realy is. that is completly true.
what people that support the registry know about guns is what they see on TV and that is far from reality
The Police Chief keeps fussing about what all of the police want. Well to bad the Chief and the rest of the police are not the kings who want sole control over all the weapons. They are civil servants who need to let these decisions be decided by the people not a few high position cops.
The chief brought up the RCMP report like it actually had some merit. Of course the RCMP will say the registry is working since they are the ones running it! This is why students are not allowed to write their own report cards. They would always give themselves straight A's.
