hi naturalnana...i'm a guy just starting to grow his hair out...kept it short for years....hair is only about 3/4" long long...i want to get my hair like the guy at 4:17-4:20....but don't have a clue about how long it'll take to get there....and what i should be doing to train my hair along the way....or how long it should be before i start training it...most natural hair sites i find are more women-related....any help for a brutha?....thanks in advance..
@insurroundsound Try protective styling like twist, braids, keep your hair moisturized with natural oils and use natural hair products in general. As far as how long it takes it depends on how much hair you retain that's why I suggest putting your hair in a style (once it gets long enough) and leave it alone. You should check out marsalis686's channel here on youtube. He's makes some good videos about hair care and his hair is pretty long. Good luck.
pls naturalnana how do i get a style close enough to the pic in 0:12 in length and texture without it looking laboured.. and also how do i begin to get the style in 0:16.thank you
@eaglei for the first one you should twist your hair in 2 strand twist while its still wet after you've just washed and conditioned it. The second one looks like it was in coils or starter locs.
