Both are pretty bright. Usually, I keep my brightness setting on either the lowest (25%) or second-lowest (50%) brightness setting...I have a DS Lite.
Since the PSP is showing off blue and the DS has plain white. Which would be brighter? Of course the White would. Should of used a blank photo on the PSP and angle the DS and PSP screens evenly so their not facing downward. Fail.

@vgman94. Yeah on almost all the PSP vs DS reviews it says the PSP only has games like GTA or Call of Duty but it has games for everyone. The DS is the one who barely has a variety of every genre. from kids to adults the PSP is for everyone.
Yea, PSP has more games than adult games (from what I've seen). DS is just for kids, it seems. DS also seems to have no real variety, but that's a common problem with Nintendo.
@EpicPlaythroughs Crash never went down hill. Only his popularity. His games are still good if not better than before. People just look for weak excuses like their new designs (hating something for it's change has no merit) or how it's too different. They don't make meritable complaints like the lacks of a large moveset or it's simplicity. PS Spyro games were mediocre. The new games are much better. I know, Spyro DOTD is not uber voilent or bloody, but it's still very serious.
@EpicPlaythroughs I've played the original PS1 Crash & Spyro games. All the PS2 ones and have 1 GBA game of each series. I grew up playing these games and unlike a lot of people, I am not picky! I don't whine for no reason. I whine of there's good reason to whine. Look at Rayman. The newest one looks like crap because the point is silly and Rayman isn't even in it. Crash and Spyro's directions are MUCH better than that.

Sonic's still awsome, though.
@vgman94 I can tell you don't really know much about Zelda at all. And proffessor layton is a puzzle game. Also, since when has spyro and crash had more moves? Link and Mario have a ton of weapons and powerups to use in each and every game, and unlike the newer crash and spyro games, they're actually fun. And the story in spyro and crash is like mario, they don't really have much of a story, so that isn't really something to boast about.
@EpicPlaythroughs Okay, you're a casual gamer who likes softer games, I see. Well, I agree that Zelda has some moves, but Mario.... No. He hardly has anything and being shot from a cannon is not a move. Besides like 3 or 4 attacks and some power ups, he still just jumps on enemies and after like 9 games of that, it can get very boring. I've played SunShine and after a few years, playing it again, I was bored to pieces. Crash of the Titans was much more fun than that.
@EpicPlaythroughs Spyro Enter the Dragonfly was glitchy as hell, so I couldn't finish the game, so it was a bad game, but Crash's counterpart, Wrath of Cortex, wasn't (aside from the loading times, but the gameplay and music were great). And none of the games after were bad. The TLOS series was EPIC, Crash's Titan gameplay is awesome (if not in need of some re-tuning, but still great) and both of the series' new designs are great to me. Why? Because I don't nitpick every little thing.
@vgman94 I don't nitpick, if a game has it's flaws, and is great, I won't mind. However, if I don't enjoy the game because of these flaws, i won't like it very much. That isn't nitpicking. I havn't played the legend of spyro games myself, but I can judge from videos of it that it has way too much combat, and looks very repettitive, and the cutscenes and dialogue is god aweful.
@EpicPlaythroughs The cutscenes and dialogue in the old Spyro games is God-aweful. When Spyro says "What about Nasty Nork" in that voice, I just wanna rip out his nose. You can't really say the new are repetitive because the old were just as repetitive. At least Spyro one was. 2 had some good minigames and was good, but 3's were bad and the worst of the 3. You haven't seen Dawn of the Dragon. That game has less repetitive combat and more puzzles and some PS1 Spyro-ish secrets.

And the story in the newer ones is terrible, I would preffer the over-the-top craziness of the older spyro games than a horrible attemp at making it "adult" The newest spyro game is supposed to be the only half decent of the never ones, and even that isn't supposed to be great. Take a look at some reviews and see what they have to say about the newer games.

If you would stop thinking of Spyro has a psuedo-kids games, you'd realize that his more serious world is much better suited for a DRAGON. Spyro is exactly that, not some weird pony-like construct. Play Sonic Unleashed (PS3) and look at IGN's review of it. Go with the saying: Believe half of what you read and none of what you hear (or something like that, it goes).
@vgman94 Listen to some of the dialogue in the newer spyro games, it's horrible, it tries to be all "adult" and fails at it with cheesy, annoying dialogue (especially from sparx, someone please swat that little git to death)

Yes, because Sparx' dialogue is funny and awesome and a hell of a lot better than that horrend "Bzzz, bzzz, bzz". I wished someone would swat THAT git to death, not the new comedic Sparx. It tries to be mature, not adult and being mature (it doesn''t fail at it very much) is much better than that ugly kid world of the PS1 Spyro's. Sorry if that offends you, but I must be honest.
@vgman94 Sonic unleahsed's night time levels were horribly repettetive and dull (fight enemy, move on, do a little platforming, forced to fight a bunch more enemies before you can move on, move to the next section, forced to fight a ton more enemies....)
@EpicPlaythroughs Why is it that it's like platforming is soooooo awesome (it's just jumping over holes with some platforms among other variations) and combat is so hated? It had enough moves to not be repetitive. You just didn't play it correctly. The enemies were dull for being too easy, but the platforming, combat system and levels (including relatively easy puzzles) were awesome.

The only real thing Sony ever did right was RPG`s and some really obscure games back in the day, like Orphen, ICO and all of that crap. Spyro? Jak and daxter? come on, this shouldn't even come up in conversation..
@UberToober Are you on Meth?! Spyro was crap in the PS1 era, maybe, but Crash was good and Jak & Daxter was great back in the day. It fell a bit with after Combat Racing, but it's still good. And the newer Crash and Spyro games are the shit (or the bomb, whatever). There's also other epic games on Sony consoles; Sonic, God of War. Ratchet and Clank and Prototype (not all are Sony exclusives, yes, but all are on Sony consoles). I bet you've never even tried a Sony game.

The gameplay in Spyro 1 was too simple and the story was extremely nonsensical. Spyro 2 was good, though, but Spyro 3's story was soo ridiculous, I could puke. No, seriously. Once, I played the game and got a stomach ache. Now, he's much more serious and cooler, as he should be.

One thing, the screen of the PSP was facing downward, which reflects less light even in the dark and makes the screen look darker, and the DS had the screen up which makes more light reflect.

speaking as a person who has both the DS can be a bit too bright but it is more personal and intimate PSP is just like a console in your hand but the game supply is slightly lacking not to say there aren't good ones but the DS can beat out PSP in games but DS has no UMD movies which is one of my favorite parts of the PSP also the half internet is splendid as well I'd get both they don't set you back too much and they both have their merits

Ds can do almost everything a psp can do. The graphics maybe not, but the ds uses less battery so has more play time. Not to mention if you get an r4, dstt, cyclo ds, supercard, etc., you can watch movies, listen to music, and view pictures, organize your files, download demos, check your email, edit text, and even record yourself with the built in mic. Yeah, exactly, and all together an r4, etc., a micro sd card, and a ds cost about the same as a psp all together.Which console is better now?

@EpicPlaythroughs Crash never went down hill. Only his popularity. His games are still good if not better than before. People just look for weak excuses like their new designs (hating something for it's change has no merit) or how it's too different. They don't make meritable complaints like the lacks of a large moveset or it's simplicity. PS Spyro games were mediocre. The new games are much better. I know, Spyro DOTD is not uber voilent or bloody, but it's still very serious.

@EpicPlaythroughs I've played the original PS1 Crash & Spyro games. All the PS2 ones and have 1 GBA game of each series. I grew up playing these games and unlike a lot of people, I am not picky! I don't whine for no reason. I whine of there's good reason to whine. Look at Rayman. The newest one looks like crap because the point is silly and Rayman isn't even in it. Crash and Spyro's directions are MUCH better than that.

You don't know what you're talking about. Crash and Spyro have more moves, Crash has inoovative gameplay, Spyro has a better story, their new worlds are better and yet, you prefer Mario and Zelda: The world of a 6-year0old and an overdramatic & somewhat cliched fairy tale world. Sonic's still awsome, though.

@vgman94 I can tell you don't really know much about Zelda at all. And proffessor layton is a puzzle game. Also, since when has spyro and crash had more moves? Link and Mario have a ton of weapons and powerups to use in each and every game, and unlike the newer crash and spyro games, they're actually fun. And the story in spyro and crash is like mario, they don't really have much of a story, so that isn't really something to boast about.

@EpicPlaythroughs Okay, you're a casual gamer who likes softer games, I see. Well, I agree that Zelda has some moves, but Mario.... No. He hardly has anything and being shot from a cannon is not a move. Besides like 3 or 4 attacks and some power ups, he still just jumps on enemies and after like 9 games of that, it can get very boring. I've played SunShine and after a few years, playing it again, I was bored to pieces. Crash of the Titans was much more fun than that.

@EpicPlaythroughs Spyro Enter the Dragonfly was glitchy as hell, so I couldn't finish the game, so it was a bad game, but Crash's counterpart, Wrath of Cortex, wasn't (aside from the loading times, but the gameplay and music were great). And none of the games after were bad. The TLOS series was EPIC, Crash's Titan gameplay is awesome (if not in need of some re-tuning, but still great) and both of the series' new designs are great to me. Why? Because I don't nitpick every little thing.

@vgman94 I don't nitpick, if a game has it's flaws, and is great, I won't mind. However, if I don't enjoy the game because of these flaws, i won't like it very much. That isn't nitpicking. I havn't played the legend of spyro games myself, but I can judge from videos of it that it has way too much combat, and looks very repettitive, and the cutscenes and dialogue is god aweful.

@EpicPlaythroughs The cutscenes and dialogue in the old Spyro games is God-aweful. When Spyro says "What about Nasty Nork" in that voice, I just wanna rip out his nose. You can't really say the new are repetitive because the old were just as repetitive. At least Spyro one was. 2 had some good minigames and was good, but 3's were bad and the worst of the 3. You haven't seen Dawn of the Dragon. That game has less repetitive combat and more puzzles and some PS1 Spyro-ish secrets.

And the story in the newer ones is terrible, I would preffer the over-the-top craziness of the older spyro games than a horrible attemp at making it "adult" The newest spyro game is supposed to be the only half decent of the never ones, and even that isn't supposed to be great. Take a look at some reviews and see what they have to say about the newer games.

If you would stop thinking of Spyro has a psuedo-kids games, you'd realize that his more serious world is much better suited for a DRAGON. Spyro is exactly that, not some weird pony-like construct. Play Sonic Unleashed (PS3) and look at IGN's review of it. Go with the saying: Believe half of what you read and none of what you hear (or something like that, it goes).

Yes, because Sparx' dialogue is funny and awesome and a hell of a lot better than that horrend "Bzzz, bzzz, bzz". I wished someone would swat THAT git to death, not the new comedic Sparx. It tries to be mature, not adult and being mature (it doesn''t fail at it very much) is much better than that ugly kid world of the PS1 Spyro's. Sorry if that offends you, but I must be honest.

It had enough moves to not be repetitive. You just didn't play it correctly. The enemies were dull for being too easy, but the platforming, combat system and levels (including relatively easy puzzles) were awesome.

@UberToober Are you on Meth?! Spyro was crap in the PS1 era, maybe, but Crash was good and Jak & Daxter was great back in the day. It fell a bit with after Combat Racing, but it's still good. And the newer Crash and Spyro games are the shit (or the bomb, whatever). There's also other epic games on Sony consoles; Sonic, God of War. Ratchet and Clank and Prototype (not all are Sony exclusives, yes, but all are on Sony consoles). I bet you've never even tried a Sony game.

But because both series changed more into my style of games (beat em' ups or combat games with some platforming. In other words, action/adventure games), I prefer the new games of both. Shit game? Are you faggo-never mind. Crash is NOT shit. He wasn't super great in ND days, but good. And great nowadays, but I suppose Crash would have to be an exclusive to be a mascot. I still think he can be on other platforms and be a mascot because the others would be there, but the main game would be on Crash's home. J&D is good, but is not that good anymore after Jak 3. Play Heroes, Shadow, Unleashed and Black Knight! They have much more than just running.

You never made a comparison (a long standing one) between drugs and hype. You only mentioned it and never explained it in detail. MSG4 is overhyped, Killzone sucks and whats Mag? One thing, the screen of the PSP was facing downward, which reflects less light even in the dark and makes the screen look darker, and the DS had the screen up which makes more light reflect.

there both ok. but personaly nitindo's ds has nothing hardcore and sony's psp dosnt have many good games at all. I'm more of a console gamer so Xbox 360 is the best!

How does the DS win? Besides he didn't mess with the PSP's brightness settings, also, the PSP has brighter settings when hooked up to a power supply.

but ds lite doesnt suck only the ds it sucks.and
actually ds lite plays for 5 hours and psp plays for 5.5 not kidding.and r4 is just a waste of time psp comes with all of that and you dont have to install it

hey didi u know that a ds lite can plays up to 19 hours that black 1 is a ds lite. reg ds can play 5 hrs and not only that reg ds cant change the bright setting oh r4 sucksss
u sould but a ttds, m3, g6, edge, ez flashds xtreame .ect ( those r the best ) r4 can handle up to 2 gb others can handle up tp 4,6,8,10,16.and 32 nor higher and r4 cant and ds extreame can GO ON THE INTERNET r4 suck and psp it easy to brock it ds lite it ok to drop it a few times and install? wht r u talking about .

Ds can do almost everything a psp can do. The graphics maybe not, but the ds uses less battery so has more play time. Not to mention if you get an r4, dstt, cyclo ds, supercard, etc., you can watch movies, listen to music, and view pictures, organize your files, download demos, check your email, edit text, and even record yourself with the built in mic. Yeah, exactly, and all together an r4, etc., a micro sd card, and a ds cost about the same as a psp all together.Which console is better now?
