@esseaindanaotinha Actually, I loved the album. Even after all these years and great songs, it's my favourite album by Dire Straits and Mark Knopfler. That feeling of ambience it has about it is so far beyond anything else... and the epitome is this song. Still makes the hairs on the back of my neck stand up!

Although I certainly like the instrumentals on this song, the voice of Knopfler has grown to an irritating factor for me in hearing the Dire Straits.

It sounds a little wannabe-cool to me.

Knopfler always sounded and looked a bit pretentious... I can understand your feelings. In my comment anyway I was really mostly talking about the instrumental parts, that are, really, all top notch here, especially from an emotional standpoint.
