Actually raising gas taxes not only raises revenue but spurs more conservation and development of alternative technologies. More short-sighted Bush policies at work here.
@gsolman6 It "spurs conservation" by making it too expensive for people to live their lives - hitting the poor the hardest in not being able to afford to fill up their tanks, and making it more difficult to feed their families by increasing the cost of food and other goods, and of course all of that is damaging to the overall economy. As far as "alternative technologies" - that is highly doubtful..
Uh, and how much more are we paying for gas under Bush than under Clinton? If Bill Gates was running this country and the price of computers suddenly tripled, I'd be a little suspicious.
Obama if things are like 09, and 2010, will be remembered as the worst president.
Has he done 1 thing Americans are in favor of??

I calculated the price of gas in this video by dividing the sale by gallons in the frames that show the pump. It was $ 1.68 per gallon.

HW Bush raised the gas tax by 50 cents.

@Sims2789 If "HW Bush" did it then I imagine Kerry voted "Aye" in the Senate, so he still would be cupable on that as well.

Agreed.
"Well geez, as long as I get my cheap gasoline, I'll give up my liberty."
John Kerry wasn't interested in being our president. . .the Democrats didn't WANT to win.
