  • Insane!

  • Read in CD liner notes: one of the Kirkwoods dropped L then wandered out into the desert at night. Came across a rug with amazing designs. Curled up in it and went to sleep. Upon waking the next morning he discovered the rug was a rotting coyote skin.

  • Such a wondrous time for The Meat Puppets! I love the debut for dierent reasons, but psychedelics really tuned them into the surrounding desert "vibe". I never thought I'd say something like that 10-15 years ago, but... plus, I'm from Phoenix. I remember how it felt, back then. The MP's were the truer voice of The Valley and beyond than The Gin Blossoms could ever reach

  • fuck yea!!

  • i saw the meat puppets @maxwell's bar in hoboken new jersey 10-18-07 man can they kick out some crazy psychadelic jams

  • I was one when they did this!!

  • was this produced by david lynch.

  • it really is a privelige to see this footage...

  • new gods fucking IS the ultimate punk rock acid jam

  • New Gods is the best rock on acid song! =D

  • I saw them in 88 at city gardens in trenton. amazing.

  • it's a real privilege to be able to watch this. sometime we take it for granted. unbelievable footage

  • Righteous.

  • I love this raw sound!

  • Love Kurt's playing. I saw the 'Puppets in Denver in 1986 at the Ladies Choice Lounge; it was one of the greatest shows I ever saw, these guys are some of the best musicians around.

  • 1993, all acousic show at NYC's old Kniting Factory location, 10 top shows i've ever seen

  • 1984 NYC Peppermint Lounge, I'll never forget it :)

  • I bet...that musta been an experience!

  • hmm, i been thinking about it all nite...it had to be 1985 not 84...

  • beautiful

  • the song in between plateau and new gods is called aurora borealis. just making sure cuz the title only has two songs in it. :)

  • Oh yeah. I got to add aurora to the description as it's such a rarity. These vids are more sloppily posted since my evil twin's old channel got nuked : )

  • ok, i didn't realize you already uploaded pretty much the whole video...and yeah, i've been listening to that playlist for a while now and i'm nowhere near to exhausting it...thanks again!

  • if you have the rest of the 83 home demos video, could you post some of it sometime? it would be really cool to see some more of this stuff, i tried getting it from dimeadozen or punktorrents, but the torrents are dead

  • This video tape behaved badly in my converter but I think I got almost all the music besides annoying partial songs that got cut off after a few seconds. I have about 40 min up, in several posts. Did you find my 146 song Puppet playlist ?.....it will keep you busy!

  • God, the 'Pups were such unabashed weirdos back in '83. So cool.

  • Refreshing and way cool! How'd ja get the viddy?

  • It was filmed by one of their friends and eventually spread around by tape swappers.

  • Way raucous dude!

  • Gloriously Garagey ♫♪♫♪♥♫♪

  • Fine ! What year ?

  • 1983 when the band was only 3 years old
