This is the only figure skating routine that has really stuck in my memory, and I was only 8 or 9 when I first watched it during the Nagano Olympics. It really says something that I remembered this even now :)
Just have this wonderful performer and performance etched in my memory for ever. Fantastic. I just love everything about this guy. The sword sequence is the highlight to me.
He is awesome, talented, and so damn sexy! I miss seeing him skate like he used to. Brings back wonderful memories--my sister and I would always watch him and she would tease me cause I thought he was the sexiest thing ever. Here's to you sis--I miss you!
Quelle performance adorable!
his landings were messy, and from a technical point of view that was what lost him the gold - but i agree he deserved it. He embodies what the sport was about. He is literally dancing on the ice and everyone loved it.
From memory he had an encore as well? Everyone cheered for him to come back out and repeat the sword fight scene :)
Totaly agree, too many today view success as the only grade in the olimpics. This man embodies the true spirit. To go out there and dance with his heart and passion.
thanks for sharing! never understood why he never get the gold medal, his program was 99.9% perfect! plus the choregraphy that was much ahead... a delight!
i remember this skating. for more than a week i can't remove this image form my head. wonderful! i didn't think that i can see this skating again! thanks for posting~

This routine is more remembered than the gold and silver medals winners. It was great! I would awarded him with the gold medal. It's a classic now.

Does anyone know the music to this? I think he's a great skater. He really did deserve the bronze for this. I'm glad he was so thrilled about it.
