Hey Carolyn I mad this tonight...and yes i used butter and flour and this pound cake taste GREAT. Nice simple and easy to make. MELTS IN YOUR MOUTH. I Love how the top is nice soft and buttery! Thank you
I'm so sad I am just now finding your channel. I love that you are making professional and quality food/recipes accessible for the home cook. Great job! We chefs always seem to shy away from baking, but you made it! It looks good too!
@brewatch Thanks Dear. Yeah baking is my kryptonite lol but I'm willing to expand and see what I can make happen. I'm glad you found me and thanks for watching.
nice recipe...just one suggestion, i grew up cooking in the south so must-do's stick in my head from mama...i always crack my eggs in a seperate dish just in case they're not good. luv yo style of cooking diva, keep up the great work!
This was great little too much for 1 so I made cupcakes. Put them in freezer and popped 1 out when I wanted warm it up in mic topped off with some lemon sauce. Great
@teardrop2654 Oooo, cupcakes sound great, portion controlled and convenient. I do that with a type of candy my neice makes because it's so rich I can control how much I eat by cutting it into small pieces lol
@bellys124 I think you can. You can judge how much carmel sauce you want to use to gadge the sweetness...and then serve it with ice cream lol now that sounds like dessert :)
Yummmmmmm......bet that cameraman of yours asked ya for a piece of that great lookin' pound cake! btw,...most packaged cake mixes have directions for high altitude, i suppose we keep observin' these instructions? Thumbs up to ya Carolyn and thankin' ya for the AWESOME UPLOAD!! =D
I always make box pound cake. I typically use 1 1/2 boxes of cake mix and 4 eggs. This will make more cake mix and make the cake higher. Have you had any formal cooking training Carolyn? I love all of your videos.
Hey Carolyn, i made this cake, I used the lemon mix tho....it was fabb!!! I also added about 1 tablespoon of fresh lemon juice to bump up the lemon flavor...Also while the cake was cooling but still hot I drizzled a lemon simple syrup on top after poking several little holes in the cake with a wooden skewer...It turned out GREAT!!! Btw my GD Seasoning is on the way...Can't wait to try it!!!! THX
I got my yogurt and it was good lol. I know your working hard on getting GD out there. We on youtube love and support all you do. I wish you the best. I can't wait to see what you have to offer. Enjoy your week and take care. Dont work too hard. Have some fun too :-).
@MsNJohnson No actually it's really good especially for such a quick recipe. I've baked scratch cakes and they're a little more time consuming. I can see why Curtiecia like's to use this cake as a base for other desserts.
Good luck with everything. I cant wait to see GD in my local supermarket. You are also coming out with a salt free one? Any other things coming out from GD? I will be heading to Trader Joe for that yogurt :-). Enjoy your week
@Missyplaymate3 Yes we are working on a salt free all purpose but it's going to take some time to get it right. The rest of the GD line will include seasonings that are specific to each meat, poultry, beef/pork and seafood. Man, it's hard work but it's making us put our best foot forward.
Missed ya!!! I'll have to give this a try... DH butter recipe cake mix is my favorite go to cake when I don't have time or don't feel like going through the trouble of making a cake from scratch!!! I bet that grilled pound cake would be good with some vanilla ice cream or fresh whipped cream with a strawberry sauce and topped with fresh strawberries!!!
Hi Carolyn! I was wondering did this poundcake have that shell? You know the crunch to the outer coating and moist on the inside?? Where the recipe indicates flavoring...I am assuming you can add any kind of flavoring like maybe lemon??
Did you get that yogurt from Trader Joe's? When is GD coming to the East Coast :-). I am down to one bottle now. I will have to order soon. I use it on everything :-)
@Missyplaymate3 What's up Rachel! Yep, that yogurt came from Trader Joe's (one of my favorite stores) and we're working on getting GDS nationwide in store chains. We've been working extremely hard on it :)
Good Morning Miss Carolyn. Glad to see a new video from you. I am afraid to bake myself. I will try this:-). Thanks for sharing and good luck with everything. I need to make some breakfast. I just came in 30 minutes ago lol.
@mrsbigkev Well, I got it from a store called Trader Joe's and it's their store brand of Non-Dairy Dessert and it is good. Even if you can't find this particular name brand I would still suggest you try this type of dessert because it's really good.
@CookingWithCarolyn Can this cake be used for a base for caramel cake. Or is that too sweet? Looking for a great base cake for my caramel sauce i just learned to make.
I love all of your video's your my favorite chef :)
