Just cruised into this from Paul Robeson's classic version. What a completely goofy abbreviated version. The guy sang a tough song well. The production treatment of the segment is a shameful disgrace. I fear the intention of the original song is all but lost.

This is still one of my favorite America's Got Talent performances, and in my opinion, one of the best ever on a talent show. Lawrence Beamen has an AMAZING voice, and this was such an emotional, wonderful performance, it still makes me cry.

His other performances weren't that good. He's got an amazing bass voice, but it's not his only strong suit. He played Barry White & another love song, which *my opinion* is not his strong suit.

This song was incredible. I was kinda disappointed he didnt sing any other songs along the same lines as Ol Man River. Don't get me wrong, he was awesome at every song he performed, but this one was by far my favorite, and the rest of his songs couldn't measure up imo.
