Two things: one, Dranzer is a combination type aka balance type and for Dranzer's base you have to pull the pegs out to activate its engine gear.

My Parents used to buy me these plastic beyblades every week and nearly everyone on my block played with beyblades. Though my parents were awesome enough to buy me them, they each had their complaints. My Mom always complains how overpriced these were, and my dad complained about the show. It's not the idea of spinning tops that he hated, it was actually how the characters sounded. No offence, I loved the show, but the voice acting is corny as all hell, my dad hated dizzi from season 1 & 2. :/
