haha, i found out some of the secret exits only once I tried making a rom hack myself, because you get a good view of the whole level in the editor...

You know, for the longest time those moving coin blocks confused me. As a kid, I didn't realize that you could control them, I though that it was just random where the coin would go. As you could imagine, this resulted in a lot of frustration.

In Tubular, couldn't you get the p balloon, go and get the other p balloon, but not get it right away, saving it for when you're about to run out of your first p balloon, then getting the second one to complete the stage with?

On the Wii Shop release, you can move with both the joystick and the D-pad. So on the Wii, you could do that trick too, I'd assume.

Don't know how many hundreds of people have brought this up yet, but you could hit the top of the charlies, let them jump off the ledge, then get their balloon under them. That may make it possible!

The way I got past this level is ascetic, I believe! Go grab a cape and a blue Yoshi! Then glide through the level, until you can eat a red koopa! Since he doesn't give points, if you spit it out, it's good to go!

here is a dad story. my dad used to work at Digital and we played return to zork together and we got stuck on a puzzle at the end of the game. We thought we would never beat it but he printed out a walkthrough on a dot matrix printer to help us beat the game. Can't you let the P-Balloon in the second block travel a little farther before you collect it? It should get you to the goal if you collect it near the yellow pipe.

Star World 5 as a kid... Man... Used to just get blue Yoshi for that. Eventually figured out that I could make a bridge out of coins there, but flying was so much easier that I found little need for the bridge.

Blue Yoshi was my solution to a lot of things. Actually, I think blue is one of my favorite colors cause of that guy.

I'm almost certain there's a P-Balloon in one of the blocks the Puntin' Chucks are standing on; in this case, just hit them so they run off the block, then hit the block. Maybe I'm mistaken about P-Balloon placement, though.

Tubular is very possible to do legitimately. The ? block at 9:11 has a P-balloon in it. You just need to hit the Charlie on the head to make him kill himself.
