Loved the book. I first picked up Smells Like Dead Elephants- also fabulous. Really funny, and frighteningly relevant. I'm embarrassingly eager for his next one.
I read his first book (Spanking the Donkey, written in 03 and 04 about the election that was happening then) and liked it a lot. He's unique in my view among political writers in that 1) he's a talented writer, and 2) he writes from the point of view of someone who's concerned about the underling REAL issues of politics (war, poverty, international relations, etc) but who's forced to wade through all the surface bullshit of the US media-- which is how a lot of people are nowadays.

Don't use a damn cell phone to conduct an interview. How stupid! Doesn't say much for Taibbi's common sense! He's probably walking through a mall or driving down the road. With a book out, and he can't find a land line?
Wow, you're 46 years old and that's common sense for you? Shit, I'm 22, internet user since age 14, surrounded by technophiles all day at school and work, and I didn't have the Slightest!!...
I'm older than that now, and I've been a computer user 30 years before the Internet was heard of. Perhaps when you are 46, you will understand the difference between common sense and common knowledge.
Hopefully so, that would be an extremely useful skill in making my advantageous progression thru the modern world... thanks for inspiring me, Allardyce, I most sincerely appreciate it!!!!!!!
