  • no, the choreography was awesome. this was so cool.

  • This pretty darn good for a High School production. KUDOS to the cast members.

  • I think this is the best non-professional version of Rhythm of Life. The routine is one that I think Bob Fosse would appreciate -- especially because of the sexual innuendo. This is not an easy song so take it easy on the kids. Good Job! (from a former Thespian)

  • hahahahahahaha

  • This was played at my grandads funeral....beautiful song <3!

  • the girl on which the guy sits is in a very provocative position for those 2 guys behind her and infront of her!~!! could have done better to my opinion!

  • @lilithmoon1979 get your mind out of the gutter!

  • @jbuchanan007 lmao!! im just saying that the choreography could be done better!!!

  • Your version is always the one I come back to, I love it ;)

    x

  • This is really good my choir at school plus singin that at a song feat soon

  • this guy sucks at singing alone and the flip your wings and fly up high was so much better then fly to daddy

  • what the hell...I noticed alot of differences between when my chorus sang it and them, what the hell was with the main singer?Nurses?Daddies?WHAT TH HELL!

  • @ThePyrothehedgehog This version is from the Broadway show, "Sweet Charity". I believe there is a different version adapted for choruses and such, but I'm not really sure why the changes were made.

  • Was that a live orchestra? Or were you using a track?

  • @morricone1900 We used a track!

  • oh mein gott... die amerikaner können echt alles kaputt machen. sogar das beste lied! -.-

  • I don't understand why everyone is saying the lead singer is really annoying... I think the whole thing was pretty seemless! He is flamboyant and quirky but it works in my opinion! I love this video so much!

  • To add to my previous comment, this song as mentioned is from Sweet Charity, the "uncensored" version so to speak. The "choir" version is an adaptation, search Rhythm of Life- Sweet Charity and you will see that it is the same lyrics as this one.

  • wierd...i sung this when i wa about 6...- a 6 yo singin a song thts kinda about sex i didnt even no wht sex was then lol :)

  • no it is NOT! those are the actually lyrics for the song. you just cant admit that youre wrong and im right and that your group is singing some shitty parody.

  • @mare0524 Um mare...I just found the lyrics online and they are singing the correct lyrics. I promise this is true, I have no affiliation with it, and you have to realize that there are different versions of songs, for children and for adults, because a junior choir would never sing these lyrics due to...well, the theme of the song of course. Hope this clears up the ridiculous argument that has been taking place.

  • @Lanaruse1 i am not in a junior choir.

  • I don't care about versions. I love this. It is on my list of favourites and I often watch it to cheer myself up. The lead singer isn't the best, but the choreography is fun.

  • No they do not. I have the sheet music in front of me as I type.

  • lead singer was annoying as fuyck, and adding to the fact that i like the other version better.

  • Wow, i've never seen anything like that before, lol :) It was so odd.. but very good :D haha, i can't stop smiling :) Thumbs up :)

  • the lyrics are :

i was walking down the street lsat sunday feeling mighty low and kind of mean, suddenly a voice said go forth neighbour, spread the picture on a wider screen. and the voice said neighbour theres a million reasons why you should be glad in all four seasons. ......................................for the rhythm of life is a powerful beat puts a tingle in your fingers and a tingle in your feet. rhythm on the inside, rhythm on the street, and the rhythm of life is a powerful beat.

  • @mare0524 No they are not! They are the sanitised lyrics for young children, this group sings the correct lyric.

  • @mare0524 this is the real version.... that version is for younger kids..

  • You guys did a nice job. ^.^ Haha, I'm a newer member of troupe 4105. <3 Very impressed, you guys are my role models.

  • @TheCivvy You will LOVE your time in 4105! It was my whole life <3

  • As i watch and hear the versions of this song I do not want to believe--the lack of "knowledge" some people post. Learn something about something before you criticize. One person's experience is not the entire world. Puh-leze! Sadly, this is most of what I have learned on social networking.

  • the pour girl on the bottom :(

  • thesbian rhymes with lesbian

  • i just thought it was amazing.

and for the people who didnt, your opinion is totally concluded by jelousy.

sound bad?pffftt go on, send me a link of you doing this.

    ha!

  • @fdfdfsfsfasfasdASAsa you want me to?? that was terrible. there's a bunch of 6th graders with very ( i emphasize VERY) small vocal ranges that i KNOW can do better

  • One of the most awesome aspects of this is the fosse-esque choreography.

  • Great dance routine!

  • Great coreography!

  • Oh my gawd. This is beautiful. I HAVE EMBRACED THE QUIRKINESS!

  • I as at my cousins and we were on the connect and in a game we had to jump kneel jump and then crouch ( on knees ) and I hit the floor bout as hard as they did and bruised my knees up PRETTY badly, did that happen to them??

  • @CuteyErin1 actually, haha, i can't speak for the entire group but i DO recall having constant bruises on the knees from doing this number! nothing too serious, but i like to think i suffer for my art ;)

  • @BrightEyedInNYC oh wait u were in the play?? You had someone record it for u??

Well it was REALLY good either way. I was laughing so hard XD I have to do this song in chorus ( not the true version ) and there is coreography but not as major as THAT!! That was awesome XD

  • THESE R THE TRUE LYRICS THEY CHANGED IT FOR CHOIRS!!!

  • im sorry, these are not the real words, and you were all really badly out of tune, your accents were too thick and the backing rack was awful, im sorry to say that, but it is truely terrible.

  • They are NOT the officail lyrics!!!!!!

We sang the real copy at school!!!!!!!

  • What's all this about Daddy? :S

  • @charlywarlywoop are you like me and do neighbour?

  • @LLAMASAREFRIENDS Yeah it's neighbour!

  • @BrightEyedInNYC Yeah, the lyrics are right, even if it sounds terrible.

  • I like this version very much-- very theatrical, and the lead fellow does a great job.

  • PERFECT!!!!!!! I REALLY ENJOYED IT! GREAT JOB!

  • That is way jacked up...like wtf. Haha and the dancing was stupid and at some parts a little disturbing.

  • woah woah WOAH!! ws 1 of them named Hayley Iverson?? I KNOW HER!!! SHE GOS TO MY JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL RIGHT NOW =O

  • At last, a version with the correct lyrics! Well done.

  • Great job! I'm singing this song in my choir, & you guys are much better than my class XD

  • wtf... hahaha this is strange.

  • You guys are EXCELLENT.

  • 3:00. I lolled.

  • well done to you all, everyone of you were absolutely fabulous. I run a drama group and i am so proud of everyone of them as i'm sure your tutor is of you.

  • Just saw this for first time to all the parents amazin kids luved it nice to see more to life xx maureen scotland x

  • good job guys

  • i hate the voice of the lead male vocalist for me its really sounds bad :(( and the choreography was bad as well, but the other esp. the girls were great, take it from me, i know what i sounds like :))

  • superior

  • @BrightEyedInNYC LMFAO i like dis but the song is 100% NOT about sex!! HAHhAHAHA if there are primary schools singin it i doubt it. And for dancing show this friday n sunday we do singing and im 11 yrs old and the youngest 1 singing it is 6 so i very much doubt its about sex!!

  • I sang this in fifth grade haha great job

  • Who cares about which lyrics used? These kids were incredible! BRAVO!!!

They did a great job on one of the most complicated routines in musical theater.

I couldn't have done nearly as well.

    Congrats to BrightEyedInNYC!

  • roflness

  • What on EARTH ARE THEY DOING.

  • was this performed THIS year at the florida state thespian festival? i just got back from there yesterday haha

  • personally I like the other version more

  • the choreography... ... ... ... ...

  • i thought the lead singers voice was very bad and annoying, otherwise the whole thing was great

  • @smalltownskater55 I completely agree. What a racket. Poor lad, fly in the ointment.

  • Wasn't the voice supposed to have a sassy sound?

  • very enjoyable

  • lol at the end: jazz hands!!

  • wow that is so cool

  • Fricken awesome.

  • That was cool! Lol we're singing a different version of this in my school choir. It's so fast it makes me light headed =P haha. but still very good!!

  • needed a 'Let it all hang out' on the end, but i still loved it =- D

  • we are singing this in chior but the newer version, with the piano =P Ots SO fast@@@@@@@@@

  • ugg we have to sing this is choir but faster i mean really fast but different words when the part when is really fast we sing you will make a new sensation have a growing gongrigation build and blowing operation here me low like a pied piper blowing lead and keep the music going go go go its weird and when its get to flip your wings and fly to daddy we go flip your wings and fly up high flip your wings and fly up high flip your wings and fly up high high try to fly. but its still cool

  • I love this so much. :D

  • im going to sing this song in my spring concert :D

  • me too~

I love it. It's really cool

  • Very good!

touwuaniynof: in answer to your questions I believe that "daddy" is the minister of a religion called "The Rhythm of Life" and everyone looks up to him etc.

Im doing this musical at the end of April in my local theatre (The Dolman) in which i am playing the "daddy" so will be fun to see how this turns out.

  • i like it! question who is " daddy" in this song.

my choir is also singing this sogn but a diffrent version of it.

  • Wow.

    this

    is

    amazing! =D

  • Craaaazy good. I wish I could get together a group to do something like this. :(

  • I love how they move across the stage.

  • Great production. Is there a professional video of the performance?

  • had to comment!! im doing this in a show in then UK. this is an awsome version and i thought it was amazing!! well done to u all!!! :D

  • i grew up with this song my dad use to sing it to me those are the lyrics ive always sang, my school tried to sing it with the new lyrics and i started protesting because they used the new lyrics and personally the new ones are crap lol

  • Sooo Good :D

  • I really like this!

    Great job guys. . . . . . . .

and the choreography is probably a nod to Bob Fosse.

  • The real version is good. This one I don't care for. BUT you guys did so good songing it. I don't like the dance much. It makes the song sound like it's about sex.

  • @i0love0Reba0McEntire the song actually is about sex and drugs... Daddy is a drug dealer under a bridge using drugs as a "new religion" haha

  • okkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk

  • there good

  • the lead's voice doesnt suit the song

sorry to be blunt, but it's true

it was well choreographed and performed though :)

  • The lead is not BAD, per say, but his voice is...weird.

    I think it's his metro sexual-ness voice.

  • For school we changed it to the school edition :)

  • Yeah same here, my edition is pretty different

  • same

  • i dont like the school edition that much.

  • I remember doing this song when I was 10 back in 2001! :DDD My choir was the only one that actually had movements to the songs, and so we won the competition! And this was REALLY good! :DDD I loved it!

  • people who say acting is gay is an idiot,

therye not saying that wen they talking about ther faviroute movie are they?

  • Haha, very good :) love the song

  • This would be even better if the lead could sing.

  • was this for the florida state thespian festival? if so then i saw this live which was so much more impressive!

  • yesyesyes it was! thanks!

  • thats great! where are you all from? this makes me so excited cuz i'm working on this musical for our theatre and this makes me really hyped for the musical!

  • Is there a straight guy in this video?

    No eh?

  • Who cares?

    It's about the song, right..

  • Great number. Its kind of funny that when the movie Sweet Charity came out in 1969, these kids were not even born.

  • if you thought this was great, then you should see the original vid by Sammie Davis Jr.! same song, different vid!!! yay!!!!

  • weird.

  • this video is AMAZING! i love it almost as much as the origional. of course thats impossible butttt. lollll. i cant wait to start musical theatre.

  • that was awesome :) were singing that for our concert defferent words though no daddy stuff.

  • same. we had different words.

  • we have a choir concert in 2 weeks and we have to sing this bu its different words in part.

we sing "when i startedd down the street last sunday feeling mighy low and kind of mean" not the daddystuff.

  • amazing :D

  • I sang this for my District Honor Choir.

  • omg so did i wat skool do u go 2??

  • Century Middle School, that was like 2 years ago though.

  • Bravo! 5* =)

  • I can't stop watching it!!!

  • This is flipppping amazing :) I smiled the whole way through it..

  • I admire your try at it, but where the hell did you get the idea of sitting on one of the cast? could you sing if i sat on top of you for 2 minutes? i doubt it. Thats why all bob fosse films have hats involved, cabaret, sweet charity, and the other films

  • She could sing fine :/

  • 1:52 until 2:02 they look lyk they're humping eachother

  • good.

  • you wanna know how many times i've watchedt this? yeah. 6 times. 6

  • singer playing daddy isnt good

  • yeahh, he is bloody anoying!

  • its good exept their snapping and clapping is off beat in some parts, lol

  • hah, that was freaking amazing! The girl they zoomed in on during the doobi-doobi-do part was perfect xD

  • This was chorally superb!! :D

except for the guy singing the lead... uh, he needs to work on his voice. but he's a boy what do u expect?

  • Well the guy singing the main part should definitely not be doing it.

  • i agree lol

  • he cannot sing

  • Wow! Really good production of the song =D Well done to you all x
