Don't have Rise of the Dragon, as it's too arcade based, and I prefer the RPG's, but have all the others! You didn't include the first System Shock. Surely the first classic PC cyberpunk game? I have Necromancer, by the way, for my Commodore 64, as the 16 colours are better than the 4 colours of the PC CGA version! :)
Damn, this and Steampunk things have so much potential for video games, but the developers do same things over and over again (e.g. Aliens, Modern Warfare (no not the title) or medieval things) hopefully someday they will make something else than standard fps.
I remember playing teh hell out of a game that was isometric ad similar to Syndicate only you were a police swat like force. It took place in a cyberpunk universe... anyone know the name of it because I have long since lost it.
The only old isometric game that comes to my mind where you control a SWAT force is Deadline; however, it doesn't have a cyberpunk theme. To be honest I've really never heard of such a game that you're describing--asides from the similarities with Syndicate itself.
Ey itai82 ! Thanx for the great Compilation !!! Awesome Games !! Can you please post a list of the games you showed in the game ! The most of them I know / own but I want to compare again ^^ That would be awesome !! Good Job ! Regards, CoYotE
One excellent game I'd add to this list is Circuit's Edge, licensed from the book When Gravity Fails. All-new plot that takes place shortly after the book.
@Crowley9 Yeah! great game. I remember when I made the video, that I wanted to put it, but the screenshots were too unimpressive :-) With that blue 'picture-frame' background static in all screenshots, after 3-4 shots that look the same, it stopped the 'flow' of the video.
good thing i have yet to play half of the cyberpunk/tech noir videogames that there is.
being strictly a mid 90s theme/genre these kinda games are not made anymore. so i am glad i can discover a handful of them on nostalgia websites !!!! since it is my favorite genre.
i tried bat 2 - but without a manual its damn tough to figure it all out.
Its really disappointing that they Cyberpunk Genre of games has almost died out, I mean these games, are still amazing even if they were released back then. Just imagine the cyberpunk games being put out if these old companies were still around and had today's technology.
Part of my memory lane? I have them all sitting on my shelf now! Bloodnet, Rise of the Dragon, Bureau 13, Hell: A Cyberpunk Thriller, Dreamweb, Bladerunner, B.A.T.1 and 2, Beneath a Steel Sky, Neuromancer (on C64), System Shock (2 copies!) and I have No Mouth and I Must Scream. I also have System Shock 2, Deus Ex, Syndicate and Syndicate Wars, Shadow Watch and Escape from Paradise City, to name a few more! Great video by the way!
Bloodnet was one of my fav games, it had such a good story to it that made me keep playing it for months just to see what happend next, like a big interactive novel.
If they remade it now, it could be soo much better.
Personally, I have had the chance to play Bloodnet, Dreamweb and Beneath A Steel Sky. All three are classics in my opinion. I'm guessing you decided to include only abandonware, though; otherwise there is no excuse for not mentioning the greatest cyberpunk game ever: Deus Ex. ;P
I have no mouth and I must scream was weird... and kinda hard to figure. Bu Blade Runner is one of my favorite games for sure! (I wish I could put it on my PSP...)
:-) Yes! Good ear. All the music is from SAIS 1&2. They had some a MP3 file for download at the official site a long time ago, mixed from all the tracks of both games, and thats what I used :-)
And now that i have watched the whole video, i have noticed you have made some FINE selections! Rise of the Dragon, Dreamweb, Neuromancer (C64) & B.A.T :) I never played the others due to not owning a Windows based PC until 2000, due to sticking with the Amiga :)
Complete 11min sounds track of the game "Wierd Worlds" (a.k.a: "Strange Advenures in Infinite Space 2"), its a freeware mp3 file released by the company, up for downloaid in the official game site.
What, no system shock?

JESUS CHRIST, A NEUROMANCER GAME! ...Meh, it looks too bright, it doesn't portray how I feel about the AWESOME trilogy they call Sprawl.

How about SHADOWRUN, based on the dice RPG? It came out on a few consoles in early 90's.
