  • This is the Les Paul replica by Kris Derrig.

Slash recorded appetite for destruction with this guitar

  • I think its a Les Paul shape body ...

  • I don't think that's a real Les Paul.

  • @NoyzyBoyZ3 nope its not a gibson

  • is that the really one? the real deal!! XD!! cool

  • That is THE guitar ' that guitar created the soundtrack to my life !

  • @MatKiller1197: I think it's some kind of acid, to eliminate all the rust

  • @Kirrrt Hey guys actually in the beginning he says their is a feedback problem what it is is wax, when the pickup is dipped in it the wax dries. After being taken out of the wax it dries inside the pickup keeping the coils in the bobbins of the pickup from moving causing unwanted feedback or noise . And that is why their called a humbucker for or hum cancelling sound rather than single coil pickups usually in stratocasters

p.s. the wax is paraffin wax

  • @hotshot99911 The reason they are called humbuckers is not because they are wax potted, hell you can wax pot a single coil... the reason is because dual coils offset the 60 cycle hum and negate it (like on a strat running 2 single coils in position 2 and 4)

  • what is he doing putting them into water?

  • That looks like very low action...

  • @sirgerry

Slash's action is really low so the pickup can really amplify the strings resonance. Plus it's much easier for vibratos ;)

  • I'd hate to sound like an idiot, but he was running the pickup through a wax bath, right?

  • @themodernguitarist right. Wax potted pickups avoids microphonics on higher volume/gain.

  • is this the gibson les paul copy?

  • @scottishguyiam It is a Les Paul 59 replica made by Kris Derrig

  • very informative I will be putting a P rail in one of my guitars soon Great video c];-)

  • ernie ball 11???:)))

    nice video

  • Great to se it up close. The stories that guitar could tell. It's almost like holding the 'holy grail'...lol...(sort of). :)

  • This is funny to watch because i just got my Seymour Duncan JB humbucker and had it on the bench watching this and working on my guitar.

  • Please, Please, Please let us know the measurements !!!

We're so very thankful... and always owe you bigtime.

  • A new guitar?? Are you kidding?! I'd pay to see him just stand there and hold that guitar! Way to much history.

  • I didn't think this guitar still had the originals in it.

I can't even imagine how much money its made.

  • Hey Slash, I think it's time to get a new guitar...I know budget is tight. You can start with new pickups, starting to think these new pickups are much more less quality than the old fashion pickups.

  • @samramoss2 are you kidding a new guitar do you know anything about guitars the older they get the better they sound the wood loosens up also with the varnish cracking helps make it sound better

  • @wipers86 @wipers86 I'm not good at telling jokes... Slash doesn't buy his guitars or his pickups, they pay him thousands of dollars to play them. This guitar is not about the sound, it's really about its history. This guitar already has no value...its ready to be displayed at the "Rock 'n Roll Hall of Fame." And I know he doesn't change the pickups because it would devalue the guitar so much, only if it's super necesary ( I know SeyD would do the impossible to save the pickups).

  • @samramoss2 and besides he's got a shit load of Les Paul's I don't think he needs anymore do you just because it's got a shit load of cracks doesn't mean he needs a new one

  • @wipers86 The rest of the comments is about these brands the put names on products and make you believe that the artist really uses that same pickup or guitar. For example, the "Gibson Custom Slash Les Paul Electric Guitar ", almost 5K...I tried it and so not worth the money.

  • @wipers86 You might have a bad one my LP is REALLY,REALLY resonant. And actually sometimes I play unplugged as an acoustic.

  • @wipers86 I misunderstood,i play 59 replicas so.....

  • @nochix96isnuts so I think fender guitars have better wood that's all I was saying and that the Chambered Les Paul's are much better than solid body Les Paul's

  • @wipers86 To each his own,but of course nothing can replace a good alder strat or a nocaster

  • @wipers86 and as I said earlier,I prefer REPLICAS,you can select everything,woods,electronics,LOGO,maple top,etc
