  • which one provides better battery life? which one costs more?

  • I like the thermal vision better; it shows you only the relevant picture.

  • What Generation of night vision was that? How about the cost of thermal vs. night vision. Thinking of getting one for hog hunting.

    Thanks!

  • I would be afraid to drop that thermal, must cost like 20k

  • COOL! Which one did you prefer? Iprefer night vision, but like you said, if someone shines a light your way you could be blinded. Another good video, thanks.

  • @danzak44

I like the thermal better, but if I could only have one, I'd go NV

  • @danzak44 I've used both extensively and in my opinion thermal imaging systems (TIS) are much more versatile. What they are referring to as “night vision” relies on ambient light such as, moonlight, starlight or infrared. Infrared is not a heat source as described in the video, it is light that is invisible to the naked eye. TIS Can be used day or night and you can see through smoke, fog or even walls. They are both used in the military and both work well for their respective uses.

  • @EnabledShooter Thank you for the information, but I already knew that. I'm retired Army. I was just wondering what he prefered. I think I prefer the night vision only because that is what I'm used to. Thanks again.

  • that guy is hot......... according to the thermal of course lol

  • You can see ghosts with thermal =P thermal wins!!!

  • this is pretty cool

  • ★★★★★

  • Great video. What brand/model of NVG was that?

  • can the thermal be mounted on a weapon?

  • topp 10 Coolest videos you've made so far. Awsome how detailed everything is. Even the "cold" parts have diffirent temp's.

  • I think thermal is more useful.

  • @12gaugebleachdrinker its a trade off. With thermal you cant ID your target, and unless your allies stay at arms reach, you have a high chance of hitting them. Additionally there are two periods in the day, varying in the climate you live in, where the human body signature completely blends in with the environment. Not to mention that thermal is horrible while navigating through brush or looking for a non-living object.

  • @ELITEHAMSTER123 I can see how similar heat signatures in a hot climate that is at 98.6*, yeah seeing bodies would not be very helpful. But, how often do you need to use thermal or even night vision during the daytime? I only think thermal is more useful because it allows you to see something, heat/infrared, that you otherwise cannot see.

  • good side by side demonstration, thanks

  • interesting thank you

  • theyre both awsome i think it depends on what theyre being used for and the enviroment. sniper hunting thermal is a good choice, driving without headlights, nightvision would be better.

  • Yes, glass is IR reflective, effectively working like a mirror to thermal imaging. You can feel this on a hot day, feeling direct sunlight, and sunlight through the glass.

  • Great video

  • The thermal looks just like it does in video games

  • @MrDobans13

kinda grainy, I don't play vid games, but it reminded me of the satellite views in movies

  • the reflection off the trunk was cool. Shows reflection off a trunk but not through a window. thats interesting.

  • @cobrar85

it makes it sort of creepy to look through it .. imagine in a house with mirrors, windows, etc

  • @0:28 gunwebsites ride is a FORD CVPI police interceptor ! nice ride ,would be cool if you ever get the "NOPTIC" spotlight for it,thats sick but costly

  • @daewooparts

is that the LED one? I'll have to check it out

  • @GunWebsites no , not just a LED spotlight ,but its a night vision spotlight that is real powerful , its $2000~5000 pricetag is steep though , it is mil grade based on a unity spotlight for LE use.

  • I want one of the new IRNV scopes!

  • @TheHossUSMC

    pish... copy cat

  • Damn, all your shots of Tucson, makes me miss Tucson.

  • aren't thermal scopes around $12,000?

  • @skaterjerk9 NOPE ..you can get that gear for way less , you just need contacts in the military..we got these but didnt even pay that much ..like 250.00 a pc

  • @DOCSAFETUBE damn thats cheap. I'm sure glad i didn't go out and spend $12,000+ on thermal. Time to contact an old friend

  • @skaterjerk9

    yes, easily

  • I can definitely see how Thermal would have some great uses, especially in a tactical situation but I think overall Night Vision is more versitile for use at night and better preserves your vision if u had to make a transition back to no optics

  • @NeverEnuffAmmo

great point.. thermal gives you a wicked blind spot for a while, like looking at the sun

  • Oh btw, what thermal optic (type/brand) is that in this video, bro? Thanks! S/F

  • @RetreatHell

I am not sure, so PM on the way

  • Very cool stuff, man. I keep going back and forth on whether or not to buy a certain thermal weapon optic (that's also helmet mountable) for the past year now. It's such a HUGE commitment for possibly limited applications (for me personally). There's just so many other things I could buy for the $8K the damn thing costs, and I'd also have to sell shit to come close to being able to afford it. Decisions...

  • @RetreatHell

this one came along and was just too good to pass up.. but I know EXACTLY what you mean, these are not bought on a whim .. at least not at my level, LOL

  • "and now we switch to night vision" booo

  • if you had to pick only one which one would it be?

  • @trenttyre

NV, but thermal is super cool

  • What has longer range?

  • @drainocleanser

NV but neither is long range in a portable unit

  • thermal good for brass collection in dark environments? sweet video GW. Thermal is cool as hell =P

  • so is there a way to get NV that is kinda a thermal hybrid? like everything would look all night visiony then things that are above a certain temperature would have that white glow.

  • @Jackomason

    yes, but even more cost

  • @42cujo thermal cost more.

  • which one is cost more ? great vid!!!!!!!

  • @42cujo

    thermal = $12,000 +

    Nightvision = $3000 ish

  • You should have put the palm of your hand on the car for a few seconds then remove it to see if it leaves a hot print or not.

  • @JoeDurobot

we did that on our shirt, but didn't have the camera running, a hand would prob show up better on the car like you say

  • It's interesting to see how the thermal scope can't see through glass surfaces. I wonder would you still get a signature from someone seated in a car with the window rolled up, or would it just reflect back?

  • @GTHarmon87 It would reflect back. Thermal signatures cannot penetrate glass.

  • @GTHarmon87

I think it would reflect, but we'll test it out when we can

  • This video makes me love this channel.

  • can you test the theory of using a green or red strobe with that nightvision setup? Just curious if a strobe will blind the person wearing the nightvision

  • @PrepareYourself2010 Strobes are usually mounted on the back of the helmet to avoid blinding the user. Wether you use a green or red strobe doesn't matter when observing it through the night vision.. It shows all colours as white.

  • How bout predator style thermal...or is that just Hollywood fx

  • @pray4chicken

    with the colors?

I have seen those in medical situations

  • P71! AWESOME! :)

  • @Tenacious21

    yup

  • The real question is ....... Which mode do ninjas eyes natually see in ?? :P

  • @gunhappyie Squinty.

  • why didn't you show us the thermal viewer to see what it looks like from outside?

  • @younes86hotmail

    it was too dark

  • Radio antenna on the trunk O.o what band is that?

  • Eventually I'll get myself the night/thermal vision scopes that are combined. Eventually. Like when try drop below the 14K mark.

  • @GunWebsites what gen of nv is that?

  • FLIR cameras are so friggen cool.

  • Was it a thermal weapon sight? Looked like it would focus pretty close, the one I have starts focusing at 30 feet.

  • There is no getting away from it it is cool gear .

  • You need to combine xray vision with your thermal vision to see through stuff :)

  • Comment removed

  • could you do a target detection/identification at range comparison?

  • Cool beans!

  • enjoying the v8 in that crown vic?

  • where do you get such wonderful toys?

  • @FatGuyWithAKatana your tax dollar.. with a little borrowed from china....

  • I thought your glock had a thermal imager

  • 14,999 on sale

  • ATN FIITS with 4TH Generation IIT - Fusion IIT/Thermal System

  • night vision for driving around thermal for killing things that breath

  • @chrisw40

    good combo

  • @GunWebsites try and get a nice pair of thermals your going to pay 15,000 plus they dont want us to have it! amazon has some nice setups for 15,000 to 20,000 thousand lol

  • America, FUCK YEAH
