Love it - why do the dirty cartoon slutz all get knocked-up? And why are they inseminated with the alien-invasion Chernobyl babies with 3 tits? Not explained, but I like it that way... mystery.com. Pork Balls + Flied Lice. Space Raiders + Worcester Sauce. Safe. Roll another blunt. Munch a punnet.
5/5.

ok , the Speewah is the alien who comes to earth and brings the spirit of unbounded love . The humans are quite impressed by this and all start falling in love with each other . However it is infact a spell put on the population to make them become inseminated by the spirit of the Speewah and all the babies are little Speewahs. I hope that clears it up for you .
@ludchovek Me too. Ahhhhh happy days, can't believe it's over 15 years ago I first heard filafunk and mermaids, and then seeing you play at Silhouettes (was it a night that Shaq and Dustin were doing?). Fila were fiddling about with an FM radio into the mix, it was pretty lo-fi and cool. Power Clown and this LP ended up being my favourites, but I'm still listening to the first two LPs a lot. I got 'Dicks' and 'Pheobus...', and they still have the Filafunk. Best Wishes, Ben, an old Room regular.
I saw Fila in Toronto on the tour after 'Jump Leads' with Rapper Djinji Brown fronting them ... they brought a real drummer while Steve played guitars and keys and Dave bass over Fila tracks .. it was frankly excellent. I told everyone I knew to go and I'm still getting props from those who were lucky enough to take my advice. Some guy sat side-stage and rolled cone after cone for the band which they puffed throughout. They DJ'd afterwards .. I left at 3:30 and they were still at it. Awesome.
Ive enjoyed Fila since the early 90's but after seeing them in 2002 at an outdoor gig in Newcastle upon Tyne, where they basically patronised their fans, I was turned off. I saw them the same year in the New Band tent at Glastonbury minus Steve Edwards. It was daft that they were put on in the new band tent but it was a perfect excuse for them to have a good bitter moan about it over the Mic. The best music speaks for itself. This is a nice track
You lucky bastard. I never had the opportunity to see them live! I like their music since '97 or so. I try to collect all oftheir CD's including solo projects and remixes. But for the last 1,5 or 2 years I haven't released a new CD. What happened to them?
