Heck yeah! The Elmo I used to see on Sesame Street was NOT the annoying, show-dominating guy he is now; Maria and Luis' wedding episode shows him during his better days. I blame those Tickle Me doll marketers...*grrr*
The pre-Elmo days, though, were even better judging by the clips I've seen; it's a shame that CTW lost so many talented songwriters and performers in the 90s (especially Jim Henson himself).
Nothing against Kevin Clash, but I grew up on the SS of the seventies; the kids like the old stuff better than what's being broadcast now- I wonder why?
I'm betting it's partly because of the old talent being gone, and partly because of the old *funding* being gone. Ever notice how Sesame Street has six minutes' worth of ads now? Ugh!
How come these old SS films get so little comments?

If you listen closely, you can tell that this song was sung by TWO Joe Raposos - essentially, Joe duets with himself using "trick duet" mixing.

Think you call that overdubbing and I think there were other films with that same technique but I guess it makes sense to do this in a film about 2.

Yep, still remember this!
I wonder if the generation that grows up with Elmo etc. will come to feel cheated, once they see how SS used to be...
