  • great vid!

  • If someone knows how to mark a video for spam...could you please do it for this...you will make me very happy ;)

  • Great movie, great song, great album, great band. Just saw Katatonia live. They played this song -- total pwnage!!!

  • dude, ur title alone is kind of a spoiler... bad form.

  • @jfuya2000 Thankyou for your comment. I believe that "My Twin" could be referring to heaps of things in the movie due to the enormous amount of repetition and parallels, and that if you're looking for anything of The Prestige on youtube and haven't seen it then you should be looking for the trailer and not a music video. But that's just my opinion. If any more of you feel strongly about it please make a comment along with new name suggestions.

  • @IronyChild

actually, ur right (regarding the ppl who havnt seen it wood just be looking at trailers). but i still think either the "my twin" should go from the title or the "contains spoilers" should go cuz the two together in there makes me think of... well, u know lol.

  • @jfuya2000 Lol you're right ^^ Its usually my standard form to title the video according to its song. So I shall minus the spoilers part. Cheers :)

  • Good Combination

  • can't title it "My Twin" and then say spoilers. idiot.

  • Why does Jackman deem the copying machine as 'unholy'? Only because he uses it in the most unholy way, copying himself and killing the clones like a fucking psychopath.

Why not just use it to copy money and become an instant billionaire? Or to make food, fuel the industrial revolution, save hundreds of starving children.

Come on, Jackman. Use some logic that exceeds that of a boiled carrot.

Hell, even create a harem of 500,000 of the same girl, who is quite into 12-somes. Anything.

  • @mrgrazzt Because his sole obsession is magic.

  • wow

    awesome

  • love this movie. fantastic.

  • Wooo! I loved that movie!! Hugh Jackman is soooo smexii!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Great video. One of my old favorites back on my old account!

Great movie, great actors, great director, great story, great music, fantastic all round!

  • the part where one twin visits the other in prison makes me really sad....

  • cool video and perfect song choice! The Prestige is one of my fav movies! :D

  • Great video. Loved the interwoven scenes and the music seems to actually fit in my opinion!

  • This film is AMAZING...Christian Bale is great in it...There's so many twists in that you don't understand until the end... And it was so sad when his daughter came to visit him in prison and he found out that Angier wasn't dead... Anyways loved it^^

  • why the negative respone i make a valid point

  • Hmmm, you got a negative response because you didnt make a valid point. You said the film's flaw was that it had a clone. Ahhh, its Sci-Fi. You clearly dont understand this genre. Suspend your disbelief! And besides, its a film! Its not real life!

  • well in that year where the movie takes place there we're some theory that people had found a way of cloning and that movie is kind of based on that.

  • uhhh...i didn't like scarlett in this

  • this is one of scarlett's better performances!

  • it was sad when she died

but why didn't she just tell the guy he tied it wrong

i'd much rather expose a secret than die

  • she thought she could slip it! i was like *ahh!! CPR!!* but they didn't know that back then, so sad!

  • Isn't My Twin a love song of sorts? Love Katatonia, btw. Nice video.

  • Probably, yes. And thanks :) Still got a bit of mistakes in it though, which I might smooth out when I have the time.

  • that film was amazing... i love it!

  • the only thing i don't understand is why the "free" twin let his brother die....why didn't he try to save him?

  • I didn't understood that clearly two...he didn't had to die =(

  • I think it was mainly because there was honestly no way out of it. The twin was convicted of murder because all of the evidence was right there. Angier fooled everyone very nicely with that. There was a body, a motive, and the only one present who could have witnessed it was a blind stage hand who saw nothing : /

  • The point of having one die is to play the same trick as Angier. Letting himself officially die. But ensuring that his daughter would be taken care of, without a fugitive father.

  • regarding how angier knew not to come on stage... the real angier was always the one who was teleported... the cloned angier always stayed at the same spot and dropped into the box... you know this because one of angiers flash backs shows when he had to shoot the clone with the gun... the one doing the shooting is the one who is teleported... hence the real one is always moved away from the machine and the fake one stays put...

  • No, thats incorrect. The clone, the perfect facsimile was created away on the balcony, the first copy stayed on the stage and drowned in the box. You see, the clone was created with the exact same memories as the first, so to him it seemed that he was teleported of the stage, when in fact he was the clone made from the first, who stayed and died. Its the ambiguity of this situation that was Angiers sacrifice, he never knew whether he would be the one who was teleported or the one left behind.

  • Borden had a twin brother. In the film, one of them was the real Borden, while the other brother was disguised as the mysterious man with the moustache and hat. There are numerous times in the film when the personalities are given away. For eg. when sarah says to Borden 'You don't love me today, I can tell' it is not actually her husband, it is in fact alfred. It is a shame that Nolan, the director, felt the need to explain all of this in a string of flashbacks at the end.

  • Did anyone else know that the man with the mustache and hat was Borden the moment he appeared on the screen. I felt like it was so obvious... good movie though.

  • I meant he heard Borden screaming from underneath the stage...

  • I've watched this movie at least 30 times cuz I absolutely love it but there are two things that don't make sense.

First, how did the duplicate Angier know not to appear on the balcony that night? Only thing I can think of is he heard Angier screaming from underneath the stage. Second, why did Borden send Angier to Tesla who in fact helped him with his trick? Why doesn't Tesla pick up on the fact that he never built this kind of machine for anyone before?

  • Could it be that Angier knew that Borden was there that night and wouldn't be able to resist going backstage, so he knew not to appear?

  • maybe...

  • The whole point of the trick was to eventually bate Borden into a trap and find a new identity and ultimate revenge. All he had to do was wait for the time Borden came on stage -- he knew what to watch for.

  • I think Borden sent Angier to Tesla mainly to throw him off. He knew Angier couldn't resist the idea of finally "duplicating" his trick and I'm guessing he got wind that Tesla was in fact working on a teleporter of sorts, hence why he themed his later shows around it.

  • I loved the movie... Christian Bale and Hugh Jackman were great.

  • This video is awesome! Great song pick!! 5/5

  • What I think that is kinda brutal. Angier infact killed himself many and many times. The orginal one remained on his spot and drowned in the box). A new one stood on the balcony. But how the "new" knew not to appear on the day Borden was in the room and was going under the stage.

The film has very good ending. I love it really much. I was sitting on the dge of my seat " no borden is innocent don't kill him" And then you saw him near Angier "best plot ever"

  • "What I think that is kinda brutal. Angier infact killed himself many and many times. The orginal one remained on his spot and drowned in the box"

It could have been the other way around. Original angiers was teleported, but the glitch left a copy, who was killed.

I didn't read the book, perhaps it answers this one way or another.

Just watching the movie, though, I consider both the original and the clone to be exact duplicates, both materially and mentally.

  • That was the point wasn't it? Angier didn't know when he did the trick whether he was going to die or be teleported... And the book doesn't use this exact mechanism. In the book the body left behind is dead, it doesn't need to be killed.

  • What I am guessing is, Angier saw Borden in disguise coming and checking the machine (and probably also going into the backstage). So he tricks him that exact time by not appearing from the balcony!

And as far as I understood the movie, it is unpredictable whether the original Angier will fall dead into the tank or the clone would be the victim.

  • Borden got the idea of sending Angier to Telsa after seeing said scientist at the London Science Expo.

  • disregard my comment...i just realized that Borden would not have a clone because the Bordens were poor when they first started their trick so they would not have the money for Tesla. So yes...they are BROTHERS.

  • a lot of people are making the mistake of saying that Borden had a twin brother...if you pay very close attention to the film, there is a piece of dialogue spoken that says that Borden visited Tesla at one point or another which implies that his double is actually a clone that he befriended.

  • However, Borden also tells Angier(through his diary) that Tesla is merely the key to his diary not the secret to his trick. He made that his keyword to send Angier on a wild goose chase into America.

  • great movie...great twist...great everything!!!

  • best movie

  • did angier have a realll brother or was it the duplicates, casue remeber borden found out that angier had made the same achnine borden had toward sthe end of the movie

so maybe angier kept his twin.

  • well bordon din't have a clone---they were actaully twin brothers. Thats what made the true sacrifice of their illusions mean something. angier's duplicates were dispenable he didn't care one way or the other about them, while the bordon brothers gave up everything to become one person. To make their magic meaningful.

    i love this movie

  • I'm not so sure, Angier was going through a deadly cycle of replication and destruction, with the surving teleport clone of him dying in the next trick dozens of times over; the "real" Angrier died earlier on in the 'Real Transported Man' show.

  • @TheDudeLordOfFantasy well actually angier also did sacrifices, he didn't know if he would end up being the man in the water tank or the man still breathing. He was ready to die for his trick and probably did 50 % of the times he performed it.

  • what is song's name?

  • It's in the description, it's "My Twin" by Katatonia.

  • i liked it

  • I guess one theme of this movie is that duplicity and duplication are inextricable.

  • Nice Video. Haven't seen the movie though. Is it good?

  • :o You watched this but not the movie ? Shame, shame, this gives away all the spoilers. The Prestige is really awesome! I'm really into thrillers, and this is one of my favourites. :D

  • You did a great job. The movie is awesome, and the song is really nice too. :)

  • Thanks :D Damnit.. pressed the down thumb by accident >:(

  • that was amazing, wonderful job!

  • Very, very nice! I liked all of the parallels your showed in the video.

  • very cool idea man, maybe you should improve your editing skills and i think you realease some very nice vids, goodjob !

  • Thanks ^_^

  • Sorry about all the mistakes in the vid, it really only does get good at about 2:30. I might re-release it if anyone would like to see a better version.

  • That's really cool!
