  • The trailer is great.

  • i had this game on the psp but i did not give much attention to it because of the damn encounter rate >_< but this game is really worth a try out for people who are curious to play it

  • @steelixman BUT IS TOOO BIGGG D=

  • Please don't remove hitler when you remake Persona 2 :(

  • @andretatontos YEAH ITS SOO FUN TO KILL HITLER MUAHAHAHAHAHAHA

  • i heard there is going to be a smt persona for the 3d ds

  • P3P is better :D

  • @Kino4500 who cares anyway?

the story is more deep than p3p....

  • Just bought this for PSP.. Love the series.. Always delivers with a kick-ass soundtrack. XD

  • aww man no US demographic black mark?

  • What is the name of the song?

  • does anyone know the name of the song playing??? i really love it!!! but i cant find the song, i tried looking up persona sound track but i still could not find the song so could someone help me out lol :p

  • It's the SEBEC building theme, one of the first dungeons in the game.

    /watch?v=BXbnaBxyzuk

  • Thank you so much x3!!

  • Since i discovered persona series only when P3 was released and played everything from p2 to p4 so far it would be great to get a decent p1 since i coudnt force myself to play p1 on ps1 platform... It was frustrating and low quality since i did p2 first ;/

  • Definitely getting this!! PERSONA series one of the fav Game Series ever. Hope Innocent Sin will come next.

  • Why do I never see Persona anything trailers!?

  • @BonkuriTokio112 Check game sites. The first I'd heard of the series was early last year. I believe it was a video advertising P4 on gamefaqs...

  • LOVE this game <3

  • Well, it's done, I imported the game, loving it so far!!

  • I'd buy it if it were only released in EU, ah well, I can always import it I guess. But I MUST have this one :)

  • go to gamestorrents and look under psp games, its there i checked : )

  • Oh, so the Snow Queen Quest is in it? They certainly do know how to get the fans' attention.

  • Someone educate me on the P2 storyline. So "innocent sin" an "eternal punishment" are 2 different ones i know that much, but why wud Innocent Sin never get released here? Something abotu nazis or...?

  • hmm i remembered one of them had Hitler. Not sure but need to check.

  • Yup, just checked. There is really Hitler in it. I guess that's the reason why it wasn't released in the states.

  • but the innocent sin can now be played in english there are hackers translated the game to english

  • IIRC it had Hitler in it.

  • Simulated gambling needs to be listed in the content warning?

  • I'm so excited waiting for this game to come out! I played the PSX version to death.

  • Man, I can't wait for this to be released! I've been waiting for a reason to pick up my PSP again for awhile, and I think this is it. It's great that P3 is also being ported to the PSP also. Could this mean we could also see both P2 parts ported to the PSP?

It's doubtful. (at least Innocent Sin is...)

  • As JRPG's have become more popular and embraced by US gamers, I believe that Innocent Sin has a high chance of coming stateside. As those of us know, who have played it, even though Hitler and other craziness is involved in the plot, it is not the central theme. Rumors are still what it is all about, and the maniacal ramblings of the populace to boot.

I think that America has matured to the point that we can handle these themes not deemed 'safe enough' for our culture before. MegaTen prevails!

  • I can't speak too much on the P2 plot as I have not played much of it. I hope you're right in your musing as I'd love to play both of them!

    And indeed, MegaTen prevails!

  • heard they're makin a persona 3 for the psp where u can choose to play a girl character instead of minato.

  • can anyone tell me the name of the guy in the mask , his mask is so cool and i want to try to make it

  • philemon.

  • i hope atlus'd consider releasing its megaten and persona series in NDS.

  • very nice background music. has that eerie yet energetic vibe to it.

wonder if there was a full soundtrack for it...

  • well the spoil is the full soundtrack record... so guess we'll see how long that track is when it comes out.

  • an old game!

  • Hmmmmm... to get this, or to wait for Persona 3...? (Or, of course, to get both.) It is ever so hard to decide.

  • Oh man, can't wait until this game is out! I plan on purchasing it the first day it's released!

  • ehhh... i don't know...

i think i'll stick with the original

  • Why do people keep calling this persona 3 portable?? this is the original persona revalations! The best of the series!

  • god your stupid

Persona 3, as in the real PERSONA 3, is the next title to come out for the psp

the new features are that the main can be female and theirs gender bending included with other characters like elizabeth

    its retarded

  • What is the namo of this soundtrack?

  • Damn sweet that they included a link to giantbombs QL of this in the newsletter. Maybe Atlus has taken note of Vinny and Jeffs current Persona addiction ;)

  • If this does well enough then they may also port P2 as well.

  • When I think of Ground breaking I think of ideas that are to change up the way games are played. the rumour system in P2 was cool, but its really the kind of mechanics that MegTen games are known for. However i don't think its really all that different than "talk to villagers to find clues" in most RPGs. It just had a more open aspect to the gaming world.

I will have to pass on the philosphical game bit. As you might find it that way-- it is a deep game yes. but not an original idea

  • True that the philisophical bit isn't original, but when you get right down to it, it's one game that pits you against enemies that aren't from another world or dimension, but rather, borne from people, including your own party. Kind of hits home that your biggest enemies aren't monsters, but yourselves.

  • To be fair, I don't think it's possible to make Persona 3 any worse. Otherwise, this--especially if it includes the "Innocent Sin" half.

  • are you saying persona 3 is bad?

if so i'm gonna kick ur ass

  • lol the retard here is you. play some old games like Persona1 and you'll shut up.

  • what does my comment have to do with persona 1

is there a language barrier here or are you just dense

  • God, if you want to cry about a crappy game, cry about something LIKE Kingdom Hearts or Dark City

The gameplay in Persona 3 made up for that shit, man

And there was some decent music besides most of the crap in it

  • Why should I cry? You're the one getting butthurt because I called P3 crappy. I'm just pointing out what a horrible and unoriginal game Persona 3 was. And the game's only dungeon being random-floored was annoying as fuck, too.

And the gameplay was pretty tiresome, while there were only about three songs on the entire soundtrack besides the Velvet Room music.

Persona 4 is vastly better in every respect. Though that's not saying much, since P3 is just shit.

Still waitin' on that ass-kicking, btw~

  • This is my world

YOU are not welcome in my world

    /quote

  • Pff, wow. Spoken just like a 12-year-old girl. Is there something you'd like to tell us, Mike? You don't have to be shy--this is the Internet, after all. We won't judge you.

  • God I hate when people make pointless comments on youtube videos that have nothing to do with the comments they are responding to

DO YOU HAVE SOMETHING TO SAY YOU JUST MAKE LIKE 8 COMMENTS SAYING THINGS I'D THINK YOU'D HAVE SOMETHING TO SAY DURRR I'M GOOD AT INSULTS YOU LITTLE GIRL

  • Oh, are you crying? Aww, poor baby~

You missed a pretty obvious gay joke, too. That seems to imply that you really ARE a 12-year-old girl.

Keep on bawwing. Maybe if you do it enough I'll apologize~

  • Must be that time of the month

  • Sure seems that way.

Say, aren't you a little young to be on YouTube? I've a good mind to tell your mother.

  • A round of applause for the amazing terrible running joke meister, ladies and gentlemen

  • You know, nobody's telling me to stop mocking you. That reflects pretty badly on you, considering how long this has been going at this point.

You should cut your losses and stop replying now. You're just making fun of yourself at this point.

  • respectless rubber glove

  • You've clearly shown you don't deserve my respect or anybody else's.

And I'm a powdered latex exam glove, thank you very much :V

  • Good job analyzing the reference

  • I think everyone is entitled to their opinions. If you ya don't like P3 good for you... I assume you like some Megten games, just not p3-4? I've heard it before. mainly cause persona games are not intended for the "core" crowd.

Persona games were not designed to be ground breaking games. They were mixes of themes and ideas to make them commercially viable. Of course when we talk about "unoriginal" game themes...I'd be one to say RPGs for the most part fall into this catagory anyways.

  • More like some people are terrible and I'm the best

    You're okay too

  • What are you talking about? Persona 1 and 2 (or, at least, the "Innocent Sin" half of 2) were very groundbreaking. Persona 4's also pretty innovative; though not a brand-new kind of thing, it at least fixed every bad thing about P3 that I can think of.

If you only know 3 and 4, trying to say anything about all the Persona games is like people saying Final Fantasy's TEH BEST(/WORST) SEREIS EVAR because they loved(/hated) FFVII. I don't know if that's really the case, but your comment suggests it.

  • This is indeed a "remix" of sorts, but it is of Persona 1, not 3.

  • God fucking dammit I'll say it again

PERSONA 3 IS BEING REMADE ON THE PSP

God you people are fucking stupid

  • persona 1 was ground breaking? I'd really like to know how. and i've only played the innocent sin part of persona 2 so I have no idea. But as it turns out I have to disagree with you about ground breaking in the persona series.

But were aloud to do that. i'm not saying the games are bad. only Shin megami tensei game that I had issues with in quality was the first Devil Summoner. but in my opinion none of the persona games have really perched new ground.

  • In keeping with the original Shin Megami Tensei series, the first two Personas dealt with philosophical themes more deeply than other RPGs at the time--but unike the original MegaTens, it dealt with them on a personal level rather than the universal level. I'd say that's pretty groundbreaking, myself.

Plus, Innocent Sin had Hitler playing a major part in the story--and have you forgotten about the rumor system it used? Name one game that came before P2IS that let you use rumors to change it..

  • I am so excited for this! Yay!

  • MUST buy a PSP for this and Persona 3 Portable.

  • I am totally pre ordering that.

  • Glorious. I'm going to really enjoy owning this.

  • this is the reason why I just bought a PSP a week ago....and for Dissidia.

  • yea very good like P$4 tht was a good game

  • Delicious <3

  • Nice T.T, atlus can u change the release date to 20? please? i wont be able to get it on 22 lol, anyway i know is impossible xD, love this game

  • Fantastic trailer I want this game!!

  • mara*

  • dude if this has marra i will buy a psp

  • Pure RPG classic, that's whats is!

Well, I truly hope ATLUS bring Persona 2 too. I mean, can you imagine Innocent Sin+Eternal Punishment with this kind of improvements? Yeah, for sure will burn my PSP.

  • well they only brought out one of the persona 2 games out in english so they should be obliged just to release the other one

  • Hitler will piss off people more than the evokers did.

  • Doubtful. We Americans LOVE killing Hitler. :P

  • Looks Promising

  • so looking forward to this game, I hope they do a port/remake of Persona 2 as well.

  • more than classic

    ITS EPIC!!!

  • SNOW QUEEN!

  • Epic.

I'd get a PSP just for this.

  • So happy I could borrow/steal my brother's PSP for this~

  • what an epic trailer! I think this would make anyone whose new to the series might buy it! you be missing out a great game if you don't buy it.

  • I'm actually planning to buy a PSP in a couple weeks just so I can buy this game, and I know it will be well worth every penny. Viva, Atlus!

  • I wish I had a PSP so I can buy this game. Whenever I do get one, this will certainly be at the top of my list.

  • May I ask what is so special about the snow queen quest? i keep hearing so much about it. From what I hear it was taken out of the NA port a few years ago

  • You're right. The snow queen quest was taken out. Many other unnecessary changes were made as well. Japanese cultural references were taken out. Character art was altered. Names of characters, locations, and personas were changed to reflect western culture. It's like they thought we were too ethnocentric to appreciate or understand a game that was steeped in Japanese culture. People are just excited that that this version will remain true to its Japanese origins.

  • or as logic would suggest not many american kids know or understand japanese

  • the game wasn't originally for kids, you know. Besides, they still did a pretty shitty job. I mean, they took out most of the Japanese references, but left in Shinto shrines? Yes, that makes sense.

  • it was made for all players and they couldnt really remove something like a shinto shrine even if they wanted to but its basically the same as a church anyways

  • my is that the snow queen is the HARDEST boss in the game. stronger than even the final boss which i do not know because i have not played the game. it is great because the experienced players always want to have a challenge.

  • Atlus is the top video game company in book! And release games like this is why.

  • yay! i can finally experience the beginning!

  • Yeah, just make sure you're ready for an intense experience...

check out the other videos, they made the game even harder than the old NA PS1 version.

  • No, they just restored the difficulty to what it already was in the original Japanese version, so it's not like they "made" the game harder, they just are directly porting the Japanese version with minimal changes. I expect it'll be about as hard as Persona 2 was, except map movement will be more annoying cause of first person perspective.

  • They improved the map vs. the PS versions, it is more like the P2 maps, just with random encounters on it.

And you're right about the difficulty, but I have the old NA PS1 version and the JP PS1, and the latter is harder 'cause of higher effective item costs and encounter rates, but lower exp per victory.

  • To my knowledge they only changed the overworld (town) map, but in the dungeons it's still first person. If I'm wrong, then I"ll be very happy. Either way, the dungeons were easier to navigate than the town was T_T

  • agreed there.

everytime I play that game, I curse the overworld/town map!

    XD

  • Can't wait for this game!
