You think Britain can call an election quickly, try Canada... start to finish in two months flat!
I like your political solutions. Also, I'm pretty sure I've done that conversation thing before. But I think it's important to confuse people from time to time, keeps them on their toes!
Why not make Congress a 3-month mandatory thing for every citizen over the age of 18, 21 or 25 (take your pick) like jury duty? Everybody gets a shot, nobody does too much damage, and we can pay Congress $14 / day!
We have the same issue with biased media. Too many people in the world get all of their news from one source. As for that super committee, how many tax payer dollars were sunk into that venture? I wonder how different the outcome would have been had they been told that if they failed to save money, the cost of the commitee was coming out of their paychecks.
I've actually been in situations like you put that poor inventory guy in. I've had someone ask me if my mouse was a microphone. Someone else asked me if I could tell them how many "hits" they got for the pictures they sent by private email.
I used to wonder whether Michael Jackson just threw away plates when he was done with them and if they were gold or not.
Politicians doing their jobs? HA! I'm not sure whether I want out politicians out of parliament doing nothing or in parliament having a brawl like in Italy. Oh well. I guess they do an okay job.
Hahaha, god, jesus, and nascar. Just wondering, does Georgia get snow, and if so, how much? We just had our first storm of the year with 30 cm's so far with more on the way! :D Funny video, by the way!
@SmithVlogs We get snow every couple of years or so at it's usually just a trace. It may stick it the temperature has been below freezing for a while. Sometimes at 1 or 2 inches. There have been times when it's been a foot or so. But that's rare. In 1973 we had 16 inches of snow in February. I, of course, was at college further south where my girlfriend was coming down to take part in a Homecoming weekend.
@billtvmacon You're very welcome bill! I always like leaving them ... and I feel that I've been a little behind on your videos, but it's not too much to catch up on. :)
@FenderGibsonWashburn Haha! Thank you for that. The other day I found the piece of paper with the actual topis for this last video so I'm already two ahead for the next one.
@TheL1ttleGuy You are right on all counts. When I asked the question he kind of smirked. It's my experience that no matter the age, once you're a gadget or electronic "geek" you're always a geek. My dad was the same way. My mom, not so much.
Good idea for politics! Unfortunately, the government, being the highest power in a country, are not policed. That's why I like the monarchy in the UK - if our Prime Minister cocks everything up, there's a backup.
@thekeyring Interesting, isn't it, that those who left your country and came to this country to avoid a monarchy denied us the very thing that could have prevented some of the gridlock. But in their defense it's worked pretty well until some special interests and lobbyists got involved.
Yes our government is absurd, and you wouldn't believe how immature my TEXAS representatives are! (They make D.C. seem like workaholic, responsible adults!)
Watch any news source you want, but temper it with The Daily Show and Colbert Report to understand the utter absurdity of it all.
We're thinking of buying a new HD TV. I mentioned it to my father, who said: "Does anyone in the house still watch TV?" I told him that we all did. "Really?" he said "Your mother watches TV all day long, but I don't watch at all...except for Judge Judy of course."

@OnlyWorksBackwards Good point. Are politicians more dangerous when they do something or nothing?

Yeah, committees don't get much done ... one of the things I remember from my AP Gov Pol class. XD
Definitely some interesting things in regards to Congress ... like obeying the laws they pass and the whole pay cap thing ... and healthcare, too.

Haha, the iPad question was inspired, and works especially well because a lot of older people genuinely have no idea about modern technology!
Also, docking pay of politicians could work, but who's going to pass through that legislation? xD
