@129 you said you joined a FRATERNITY to meet girls.. I hate to break it to you but there are NO girls in a Fraternity,, Whoever that was on a dress was a dude,,, HAHAHAHA
I miss Colbert on the Daily Show. I like him better in that role better than the host of his show. Still funny on the Report but like him better here.
I still remember watching the one where Wexler said, "I use cocaine because it's a fun thing to do." I couldn't believe that he actually said it, and what was even funnier was when he tried the joke again with prostitutes. The sad thing is that someone didn't realize it was a joke in 2008 and tried to use it against him, and some outlets, including "Today," ran with the story as if it wasn't a joke.
The best part: "You said you joined a fraternity to meet girls..... There are no girls in fraternities, for the record congressman. Whoever that was in the dress, I hate to be the one to break it to you here, on television, that was a dude."
of course with any art its subjective... you could quantify it objectively... some laugh meter, funniness per word uttered?...
john is more the overall interviewer type, while colbert has his narrower character he has been so successful with... i like them both, but i knew for a long time that colbert should be doing his own thing before he got his own show, the comedy central people, or whoever figured this out... colbert stood out as constantly more funny compared to stewart, imo
@glorp896 Personally I usually prefer Stewert. I like his more subtle approach (although, I know he sometimes goes out there). Colbert is sometimes too over the top for me, but when he's funny, he's funny and the guy has me on the floor. But lke you said it's all subjective, especially when it comes to comedy.
@QueenSoap hes over the top cause thats the character they've created for him... I think there is only like 1 interview with colbert out of character. Its amusing..
I'm pretty sure that Stephen Colbert has left the rest of the human race behind with his infinite wisdom and Colbertism (means "greatness"). (Colbert is a synonym for great)
Colbert Again! Wow... This is the funniest compilation of Colbert clips (and general showmanship) I have EVER seen in my life... I cried almsot the entire time from laughing so hard. These 'interviews' he does are so funny, I cannot think of anything to compare. Fantastic, as always.
US English... isn't that just an excuse for casual illiteracy? Lol, amazing how many words Americans manage to misspell. Not to mention the date format; it's DD/MM/YYYY did you know that? Either way Colbert is a funny guy.
So they don't misspell pedophile in the U.K.? Ok. I don't know about bad spelling. I'm a good speller. And I was born on 12/19/1980. How about you? But, I'm glad we both know that. Now, stop fondling oranges..Cantyougetarealperson? But, Colbert's very funny anyway.
Ever since that spat known as the Revolutionary war, we've changed some words and pronunciations. Like colour, favourite, or amin. And paedophile doesn't really even look like the word..schedule?
Or theatre/theater. We say sced-u-al or vYtamin, we emphasize the I here..I could google and find more, but don't wanna, But I notice that americanized thing you use..or invented here at least.
Americanized thing? What am i using that is americanized? and why is it bad lol Just because im from the uk doesn't mean i dislike the US [at least as a people i dont]
how was it there first? Give me proof. Its in english, so it could have been created by anyone,
But then again maybe it was made by you lot, too lazy to actually type it down, too busy eating.
I kid though, im not THAT close minded. What point are you making? lol, I'm from england, but i dont have any english blood, so if you want to make that point make it to a person of uk blood lol.
That's weird what you said. But we invented the internet, I never use acronyms, but you're not even from England, or you are, but your parents weren't. Either way, the customs and all are the same.
Over here most of the south asains and carribeans came here after the war, I am irish, carribean, and indian. Anyway, WHAT IS YOUR POINT lol, i still dont see what your point is. americans sometimes...
p.s ENGLISH mathematician Charles Babbage (17921871) designed a mechanical computing machine called the "analytical engine." It is considered the forerunner of the digital computer, a programmable electronic device that stores, retrieves, and processes data.
americans didnt come up with the word 'whatever' lol anyway, Your not making a point lol,
I know it must be hard to understand, But just because you might believe america is the best place ever, doesn't mean the rest of the western world has become americanized.
End the convo now, this is ridiculous without any real point.
nothing make sme laugh more than people who dont understand that colbert is a satirical comedian... he pretends to be a creationist republican to point out how funny they are... hes supposed to be emulating bill oriley

Neither Stewart nor Colbert are that funny. They're hacks who appeal to the inexperienced, naive liberal youth and consequently earn gushes of "HOT" and "Genius" from such a crowd.
Nah, just a little irked by the fact that you decided to generalize the youth of today as naive, inexperience and liberal, because I am none of the above. And I'm more for Conan O'Brien than I am for Colbert any day, although I do find the guy pretty entertaining. And your last statement doesn't make sense to me; do go on.
2009 will feature Stewart and Colbert's (and the naive youth of America's) messiah as Commander in Chief. Seeing Stew-bert dance around obvious errors from the Obama administration will be funnier than their so-called normal humor!
Oh, alright. Now I see where you're coming from. That is something to look forward to. So if you're not included in the "naive youth of America," yet you seem to watch Stewart and Colbert, what do you categorize yourself as?
So you can say that I'm inexperienced, naive, and liberal, judging all of this by how I'm apart of the "youth" and because I watched a youtube video on Colbert. How do you get that?
About YOU in particular, I've said nothing. However, assuming general statements such as mine to be direct attacks on you IS a sign of ..youthfulness. Of the generally young voter base, I most certainly do make an accurate claim of their naivete, inexperience, and predaliction to make decisions armed with only one side of any given story...usually told by pundits posing as comedians.
Well I could only assume that you meant ALL youth, and not just voters because I am not of voter age. So perhaps you should've rephrased? Or not posted something that could be taken as I did? Not to say I took it seriously. Just for arguments sake. :) But I do agree with everything you said after "youthfulness."
