@searangex By "half of us," I'm exaggerating on the fact that the human population would be much lower if monkeys did have the same level of intelligence. Because them being as intelligent would mean a high, stable, population w/ adequate defenses against humans, and a greater and more direct competition with us for Earth's resources. Earth couldn't sustain two species like humans.

coincidentally, I just watched "the rise of the planet of the apes" trailer before this, and mentally sneered at its ridiculous plot and theme. But now, I'm humbled and silent, and just wonder at the possibility of their intelligence ever reaching ours.

@istanbul18 Actually, the IDEA of a car has evolved from the design of the bicycle. So the car DID evolve by human design. Also, the design of a helicopter didn't evolve from a mosquito, it was from a dragon fly, get it right.
