@mynamemaru Well I have two guinea pigs :P One of them bites hard like all the time ;P The other nibbles you to see if you have any food stuff like that. So they are pretty much like dogs. Some dogs bite everyone others bite no one :) Just depends on what guinea pigs you get.

@1996abz2007 You commented on this vid a while ago saying you wanted a pig but you had a dog. I have a dog, a cat, and two guinea pigs. The dog liked to like watch the guinea pigs at the start but now she just sits beside the outside door (near to the piggies) and doesn't even look at them. And my dog has caught and ate lots of animals before :P But the guinea pigs are safe in there cage and the dog and cat don't care anymore, so it should be alright for you. :)

Although he could eat them, he seems to doing really well so far. I like the way they trust eachother, and if the cat really does feel he is butterball's mum then he probrably will protect her, after all you don't get cat mums attacking their kittens.

Not as odd as one might think. I have a male cat that is the house 'mom'. He grooms the other two cats, tries to 'hatch' cell phones and will come lay with you if you are crying. We have two new guinea pig additions and so far he is interested in grooming the daylights out of them, lol.

AWW, That is so sweet. I have tried to introduce my cat and piggies but when ever I look away the cat opens it's mouth like hes gonna grab them and run away. I never leave them unattended together of course they only meet while sitting on my lap so I can protect the piggie. They do touch noses when the piggies are in their cage though.

I know this is totally geekifying myself...but I did some research on g-pigs and found that they really do not have any rodent ancestors at all. Their ancestors are more along the lines of a horse/cow-like creature. This may be why cats aren't usually interested in them. This may be why kitties don't see them as a snack.

I'm also going on my non-scientific observations from having had them as pets: furry newborns who "run with the herd" within hours; they buck, whinny (listen closely--the squeal has a "hee" and a "haw" to it), and they smell things by rubbing their noses over it repeatedly, just like horses. However, real data counts for more of course. I'd love to read it if you remember where you heard it.
