I had a stuck red pixel too. Doing as the forum suggests (manual cleaning without clening) solved apparently the problem... time will tell if it's coming back.
I have this issue which brings me onto youtube searching for it. Nice post decoder.
That hot pixel would piss me off just knowing it is there. And if I'm shooting HD and the image in that area was black then that green pixel will certainly show.
Man these dead pixels SUCK! Ive had 2 or 3 different live shows ruined because they like to randomly show up.... And its correct.. You can only see them when you view in high resolution... WHICH IS WHERE THE PROBLEM LAYS... The only people to usually see a video at full res, is the client... Who is usually too damn picky in the first place... The people who are mentioning that it doenst matter because you have to hunt to find it, must not have clients who pay for quality vids...
If you have to point to it, it's irrelivant to the overall image instead of doing the worlds saddest sport (hunt the pixel) I should spend more time practicing video technique as this one was horrible not even a tripod used and the music was totally unconnected to the images.
We just bought a used T2i to shoot video and had 4 dead pixels showing up at ISO 400+... augh! Tried this trick and like magic they are gone, yay!! Thanks so much
The dead pixels come out pass ISO400.. avoid that or send it as soon as possible.. mine has the same problem.. So it looks like 80% of all the 5D, 7D,T2i have the problem...
I was uploading a video just now and while I was playing it just to make sure it didn't have any errors, I noticed what looked to be a stuck pixel in most of the video. I was so mad! I checked the camera and cleaned the lens. When that didn't work, I put another lens on and it was the same. Anyway, long story short, I tried Bambi's solution and holy crap! It totally worked! Make sure you follow her instructions exactly, otherwise it won't work.
just a heads up, the dead pixel remapping trick only works for still photos. if you have hot pixels in your videos, you have to have it serviced by canon or replaced.
Alright, when I read the solution I was like "whatever that sounds bogus." But...I had 5 white pixels that are now gone. I was about to go ballistic on Canon. Thanks a million!
dude, that worked for me too!!! I tryed several clenup sessions before this manual procedure! Thanks for the tip, if you have the same problem follow the Bambi Brown directions, i hope it work for you too! in my case the hot pixel never apeared in photo, but only in video mode.
Thanks, worked like a champ. I just returned the first t2i to Costco, and the 2nd camera also had a dead pixel on LCD, and pics too. Tried your manual clean method (without actually cleaning sensor)...just chosing "manual clean" and watched miror flip up. No more dead pixel. Thought I had another trip to costco in my future. Hope the canon folks see this video/how to fix. Or perhaps they already know about it. The auto cleaning sensor method doesn't work, but the manual method did.
I just received my T2i today and found that I had what appeared to a stuck trio of pixels. Glaring white just to the left of center and 1/3 from the bottom of frame. Frustrated I started goggling. I ran into your video and noticed the short how to by user Bambi Brown. Tried it on my T2i and magic the pixels no longer show up. Hard to explain how ecstatic I was. I have to thank you for your video as well as the info in the description.
It could have been a dust particle on the sensor. Do you switch lenses a lot? But if you take a picture with the lens cap on (as described in your video) dust particles should not be visible. If you do see a stuck pixel, then there probably is something wrong with your camera.
not as bad as my last 3 shitty flip ultra hd's with SEVERAL of these stuck pixels

@trackend
if you switch the video in Full-Screen HD 720p you will observe that the stuck pixel is as annoying as the music of this video.
i would add that the pixel is as annoying as your comment, but i don't want to be rude.
next time when i find a stuck pixel, i'll make a box-office motion picture for you.

@angeldesigns2002: This pixel was disappearing from the video. In the photo mode I didn't even checked.
In photo mode, because of the high resolution, stuck/dead pixels are not so annoying.

Thanks so much for this info on how to fix the problem. I thought I would have to leave my canon for two weeks to change the sensor.
