My mom was a deadhead in her college days up until about the time of my birth. I grew up listening to and loving the Dead. I grew apart from it briefly but over the past few years they have become my source of joy -- the love to see me through. This version is one of those ones that has my heart imploding. it's so true. i only saw a few shows, mostly towards the end of it all and sometimes they were on fire and sometimes they had 'days in between' but that somehow just made the whole thing seem that much more human and real. the gesture. the reaching across the space between us. magic.
