+1 to that LOL. Michael Ware is the single ugliest human being I have ever seen. Someone please point out to me what terrible disease he has that makes him look like that...or was he born like that???
True That! The great story behind the success is the AWAKENING of the more moderate Muslims who are tired of the Islamist crap! Long-Live a Free Iraq! Shiites and Sunnis United in Democracy, Freedom and Prosperity!!!
Enemy of my enemy is my friend is ALWAYS bad national security policy. It always causes blowback. That's how Republicans got in this mess in the first place, training bin Laden to fight the Soviets and arming Saddam with chemical weapons to fight Iran in the 80s. Republicans suck at national security. They claim short term success and cause even bigger long term problems.
You're right about Bush's stupid execution of the war, but two minor points needs to be made. The CIA did not train bin Laden - he was an Arab "money man" who put wealthy donors in touch with Islamist fighters. Also, the US didn't provide chemical weapons to Saddam - I think the Germans and Czechs did that. The US provided logistical support, but not the actual chemicals.
No reason to be afraid of the facts. Bush is still a tool and needs to be impeached.
No, you're wrong. Osama Bin Laden was a Mujahadeen in Afghanistan to fight back the Soviet invasion. The Mujahadeen were trained and supported by the CIA during that time. You really ought to, you know, INFORM yourself before spouting off nonsense.
Read Richard Clarke sometime. He says bin Laden did not participate in a combat role in Afghanistan, and there's no good evidence that the CIA lent any direct support to him.
Negative, mihookey! Osama would never be a dupe for the infidels. If you inform yourself about his background you would know this. PS: "informing one's self" does not mean reading blogs and watching THE VIEW.
That's like blaming JFK for the Bay of Pigs and the subsequent Russian-backed Cuban missle crisis. Or blaming the Democrats of WWII who lied to the Viet Minh and caused them to seek the support of Communist China's MAO TSE TUNG rather than supporting pro-democracy which was Uncle Ho's original plan before the Dem's and the OSS fucked him over.
We've seen this before in Afghanistan, arming the Taliban and Osama bin Laden to fight against the USSR, the common enemy of those days of lore. And now look at us busy crafting a new common enemy for our children to fight once more.
It is so easy to see what lies ahead: after - the minor faction of AQI - has been destroyed or blunted, the Sunni groups and leaders who are supported by US-troops will clear the way for more power in their own community by killing rivals in their own community, claiming they are AQI-fighters too. After their power is secured, they will turn on the US-soldiers, with weapons provided by the US.
Leave the fighters tangled and come back ,If no than have fun there. These rental mercenries will turn guns in to you when you will not be expecting.Good Luck !
Pretty scary stuff! Can America do anything right with this war? Do they not understand that Iran will help the Shia AND YOU CAN'T BLAME THEM FOR DOING SO!!! MICHAEL WARE is the best reporter on mainstream TV.I guess i should clarify ,the best in the great USA.
