I think this is one of his more superficial songs. He has a lot of cleverer ones. Possibly "inflatable you" isn't the best example, but "Some people have it worse than me" is brilliant. For not to mention all the musical references that are weaved into his work which makes the whole thing so much more enjoyable.

i get the impression that you think the cleverness behind his lyrics are like "second" or "hidden" part of the songs, when in reality that's the entirety of the act... he's a comedian

@TheKingdomofErnor Erm, no, I was saying how often when you listen to a song, the lyrics get overlooked slightly. I know Tim's a very clever little fucker, and I know his intelligence is *most* of the act, but he also uses the actual tunes.

Also, I doubt I've ever listened to one of his more wordy songs and got everything straight away, memorably. Read lyrics = understand the song. There's a reason Storm & Mitsubishi Colt don't have as much music in them, you know.

Lot's of his songs get me like that, so frivilous on the surface but so poignant when you really listen. He writes with such insight into the human psyche, a song can be a side splitter in one line and a tear jerker in the next. A poet, a musical god and easy on the eye wih it. I Love him!
