  • saw one about a year ago in scottish borders touched down but wasn't much of a tornado more a smaller brother rain was bad never seen it like that before

  • omg is that Barra ??

  • omg that cant be right...we dont get tornadoes in scotland e3e..well i got told sometimes england goes some but there not a thret .3.

  • @RainXKyle yeha we do lol we get a lot just not likeya see in america or sumthing

  • that looks real angry down at ground level, pity you couldn't zoom in a bit more ?

  • hail to the thief! go and film your own stuff and post it as your own. ya w@nk!

  • who knows how a tornado is formed?

i do when hot air from the south meets with cold air from the north it starts a thunder storm

  • infact to be perfectly honest, i wouldnt even waste my time calling this a funnel cloud, it is barely visable and for all i know it could just be a rather pointy cloud moving along in the wind

  • It's clearly a funnel cloud.

  • thats only a funnel cloud

  • How do you think tornadoes are formed? duh

  • do you see a swirling vortex with debris is this specific video? didnt think so...

  • ok all you meterologists...i am more concerned with this fact - is this a normal occurence here?? all i can say is it seems like every other day in new york we are having CRAZY storms and warnings for tornados and HELLO we don't ever ever ever did i say ever get them!!! is this the end??maybe we should be arguing about a more important issue!!! and i agree w those who believe it was an actual tornado!!

  • you need the glasses you eejit, it doesnt touch the ground at all and is therefore a funnel cloud

  • No it is a tornado, the condensation funnel desent have to be right on the ground to be a tornado.

  • er no its a funnel cloud Im doing meteorology at uni and dont need to be told that, also for it to be an actual tornadic storm it does need to touch the ground

  • i live here and sw it, it does touch the ground

  • Yah, I got as far as higher geography and even I know that aint a tornado =P

  • well im glad to see that you agree on my basis

  • my tornadoes i filmed from my garden can be seen on "u.k tornado" while producing t.v. programes on bible aspect on global warming.i preached on tape heb.2v3-4 how shall we escape ( Gods judgement ) if we neglect Jesus who died in our place for our sins, and if we neglect our souls by not loving Jesus who first loved us.

  • it did touch coz it started launching sheep all over the place haha XD

  • Theirs white colouration at the ground that folows the funnel cloud so it looks like its on the ground

  • I dont notice any footage in this video where the funnel makes contact with the ground

  • Get yourself some new glasses.

  • ignore everything thts written below and listen to the meteorology student lmao....its not a tornado its a funnel cloud which is produced by a week tornadic storm...Im guessin this funnel didnt touch the ground at any point?? If not then its a funnel cloud which is basically the start of a tornado but too weak to touch ground

  • you are right it is a funnel cloud! me and my boyfriend took a similar video too and it was a funnel cloud! kinda blurred but i did see one! my phone never picked it up right

  • I studied Meteorology at Reading University and Oklahoma University in the United States. My professor was Howard Bluestein, a renowned Meteorologist and storm chaser. By pure definition of a funnel cloud is a rotating column of air attached to a cloud base. Not all funnel clouds are tornadic. This storm has a funnel cloud but as soon as a funnel cloud touches down it then becomes a fully fledged tornado. This funnel appears to have touched down which therefore makes it a tornado.

  • Get yourself some new glasses, too. You see *clearly* that it touched the ground!

  • Is that the tetley teabags boy arguing on youtube??

  • why the hell is the vid only 50 seconds long thats pointless shud have showed it all

  • Ok, first, it's good footage, and so, whoever recorded it, and it get's a top rating :)

Second, It is NOT a "Mini Tornado", it is simply a Tornado, just like in the US :), it starts of as a Waterspot (A tornado over water) and travels in land to become a tornado :)

As I mentioned, it's a great video clip, and it get's a top rating as mentioned, but I'm also just making sure that the classifications are right on the video clip :)

  • Ok done, can you believe dobesmaclean attacking me because I uploaded a video from the BBC website what a fucking geek and he told me to get a life what a fucking laugh lol

  • Well, it's not for me to say about who recorded it, but how are you to know who recorded it?, and like you said, you haven't said it was your video, at least not that I saw, before or after the information being updated, but you can credit him for being the one to record it, and that way, it's acknowledgement for the owner of the video :)

I hope that this is of some help at least :)

  • I took this video and was asked to submit it to the BBC. Cant believe you would take other peoples videos and pass it as you own. How was it from England anyway??? Get a life!!!

  • Where did I say it was from England? Where did I say it was my video? I dough it is your video because you have the same video and say is was posted to the BBC by Dobes MacLean, so if it was ur video surly you would say it was post to the BBC by me?
