About opening the tone pot... I think every jazz guitaist has been influenced by Wes' playing and sound and rolls it back for a more mellow sound which inevitably produces a muffled tone. I've tried a number of amps with my jazz box to achieve a mellow but clear sound but the two seem mutually exclusive. An archtop - at least in my price range - becomes too harsh with the tone knob turned up although an old transtube Peavey I recently acquired produces an interesting sound on the dirty channel.

crap Ive been trying to learn the tune by hearing and watching it for hours and Im only done until 0:21 -_-... anybody have an idea on how to do the chord progression from 0:20 to :23?

@carl7lamoureux sounds minor, so you can expect blues scale, aeolian, dorian, harmonic minor...

Man, open that damn tone-pot on that guitar, sounds too muffled this way. Don't know why everyone thinks that you have to turn the tone so far down if you are playing jazz. But very cool playing none the less!
