At least a 9! Actually cat recommends pushing 31's with a 10! And they recommend pushing 51s with at least 2 10's! There are a few companys around that a 10 with have a push block on the back of his dozer instead of a ripper so that another dozer can push him
Actually they are 631's. The 8 pushed them for a day and a half until the 10 was fixed. I don't know if it was getting hot. they had the cut ripped real good. Pushin 31's with an 8 is kinda borderline wouldn't want to do it every day. I think at least a 9 to push those 31's.
How close to grade are you looking to get with this piece of equipment?

It is pretty easy to operate, not too fun when they are bringing u big ass rocks though.
