  • OMG 2:08 / 2:52 / 3:10 i think we need an exorcist!

  • My 8th grade teacher's name was Lola Getz.

I don't know how I ever made it into high school.

  • Classic :D

    @1010Huey

  • This is a good version. It makes it more fun which makes this version fun to watch. However I still prefer the orginal.

  • I have never seen the Broadway version but I am still inclined to think you are spot on for live theater originals would always stand above takes on film. Not that we distract from these masterpieces in any way but to pay homage where it is due. Best comment so far Sekhmet :D @Sekhmet315

  • @hardballget Thank you :D. Have you heard Sarah Vaughan version? That is really lovely version of the song "What Lola Wants, Lola Gets."

  • I have heard the Sarah Vaughn version, much silkier and indeed a better version of the song.@Sekhmet315

  • This makes me want to watch the whole movie.

  • Lol she did perfect for the role of Lola. Lola's suppose to be a little (or a lotta) crazy and everything and she fit it fine. Back then it was seductive, but things change as time goes on. The dancing was perfect (even though it looks a little funny today) that's how it was suppose to be done so I don't see why everyone's bashing this.... Well it's just my opinion oh well.

  • Well said, plus I know it is our opinion but it is also a fact! The ratings of the day prove so. Gwen was an elite triple threat performer who dominated her fields for around 25 years amongst the best of the best company. Not opinion, fact!@steelergirl101101

  • ooh mate....she is fuckin ugly..

  • I will not argue attractiveness or not, for the fact your statement is ugly. What is going on in your head that you feel the need state that in the manner you did.

I put it to you that you are in fact an ugly person, not in looks but as a human being. I implore you to take off your evil head and put on a happy face. The world will be much better for all in your life. @parisfr12

  • @hardballget he's probably not that great in the looks department either.

  • @parisfr12 Aren't we all? Of course I'm sure YOU have Tab Hunter's looks or physique along w/ Miss Verdons talent.... You Lucky Thing. Use them wisely.

  • I want her shoes.

  • I could get over her looks if she had better posture

  • No one has asked you to like ("get over"), yet you feel the need to leave a negative comment. Oh and are you expert on posture? for I can not see any flaws in Gwen's posture. I might remind people that Gwen was never for window shoppers! Gwen dominated Broadway for a good period of time appealing to those of distinguished and refined taste. I can understand how one could easily make errors of judgement based on minimal information such as this clip. Regards@dazzlingdiva16

  • @dazzlingdiva16 that's ridiculous. Her posture is perfect. While she's dancing she moves various ways but that's part of the choreography. Most all dancers have excellent posture. It's learned in class.

  • Hmm... I'm too used to hearing Sarah Vaughn sing this song. I was expecting something far sexier! Lol, this was silly!

  • This is one of the first broadway shows I was priviledged to see. It was amazing, and Lola was absolutely terrific! Gwen Verdon did the role justice! Such wonderful memories!

  • I really don't understand what looks have to do with anything, this is true talent. There isn't much out there anymore.

  • I hear you, but! We are talking about looks and appearance. I think Gwen has a massive glow of inner beauty which I find more attractive than outer beauty and that fact alone makes Gwen gorgeous in my eyes. But as we know many people have many tastes and opinions and I am happy to hear them but will not always agree :D Also I think there is plenty out there, just not mainstream anymore?@JuanitaLPerez0825

  • @hardballget I think she was beautiful. I think its hard to get really good broadway stars now a days, and its even harder to get talented mainstream people. I just think that she was beautiful, and talented. Which is amazing.

  • :D Amazing is a great description. Also I think it was Gwen's influence that made Bob Fosse a true genius.@JuanitaLPerez0825

  • @hardballget Lmao, I kinda think he was good on his own. lol. I think some people just have something thats so natural, and wonderful, that comes to them. She probably did help him though. :D

  • Diabla!!!!

  • The original butterface

  • is this movie a comedy?

  • @bunnysweet96 no, it's a shakesperian tragedy. Can't you tell?

  • @lasktguy um......not really 0.^

  • Thank you very much !

  • Wow! That man is hot ... shame I was not around then!

  • haha "Hello Joe"

  • Cute, sassy, HILARIOUS...like a sexy little mouse. What legs she had...WOW!

  • 2:40 Just found an easy way to take off my pants

  • This reminds me of a cartoon, the way she runs around the room! love it!

  • Gwen Verdon is he gold standard for interpreting Bob Fosse's dance visions. Gwen is an accomplished dancer. not a hollywood sex symbol type..thus, she is not a cookie cutter type..she is alluring and sexy..just not an obvious character of male fantasy...subtle and sensuous..a true gem one of a kind.

  • for you my dear LALA USIS SCOTT..you are a woman of the world! talented and beautiful! hope you will never change.God be with you always!!!

  • Great song! But,,,,....Gwen is exceptionally....unattractive.Great dancer, but...99% of males could easily NOT be tempted. Pity.

  • Your eyes must be painted on! Exceptionally, big word for one with no sense of vision and also you have a decimal point before 99% which in fact makes your statement contradictory .99% is close enough to 1% and never will 1% be exceptional in any ones book. Put quite simply your comment is unfounded, flawed and down right derogatory. @shrubbmeister1

  • @hardballget i couldn't agree with you more.

  • @hardballget @hardballget @hardballget @hardballget

    @hardballget That's not a decimal point, it's an ellipsis, you dolt.@hardballget

    @hardballget @hardballget @hardballget @hardballget

  • There are two commonly used methods of using ellipses: one uses three dots for any omission, while the second one makes a distinction between omissions within a sentence (using three dots: . . .) and omissions between sentences (using a period and a space followed by three dots: . ...). An ellipsis at the end of a sentence with no sentence following should be followed by a period (for a total of four dots). He has used four which makes the last a decimal point and both of you idiots.@hostilel7

  • @hardballget Damn, you DO have good eyesight. I am only able to see three of those "four" dots. Here's a hint: copy/paste what he typed and count how many times you have to click delete until all of the dots are gone. Please do not reply unless you intend to concede the fact that, regardless of whatever the hell his intention was, he placed only three dots directly before the 99%, and you simply miscounted them. And where the hell were you on his use of four(!) commas in a row?

  • Yes indeed, I do stand corrected. I will take the title as the "IDIOT" and the others can stay hostile and angry :D Time I got some glasses! I enjoy the waxing anyhow, wrong or right and yes the commas is what I should of used as the medium of debate. Ah well at least I now know what an ellipsis is lol.@lindao55

  • @hardballget haha

  • @hardballget Well said. I love Gwen Verdon! She was perfect for this.

  • @hardballget not pretty

  • @shrubbmeister1 You can't judge Gwen by any standards other than her own. just the same, those are great standards. You can't judge her by contemporary standards, though even then, those with eyes can see the complete package.

  • @shrubbmeister1 i agree

  • @shrubbmeister1 Have a little imagination. Open your mind. Picture yourself in bed with a body that moves like that. Are you very young, by any chance?

  • @shrubbmeister1 I agree, as amusing as this is there is no way a performance as silly and frantic as this would result in a boner in the bedroom. . . even though whomever that is disagreeing with you is trying to present a case for the opposite. . . it almost seems desperate. . .

  • The original comment was Gwen was quote "unattractive", that I will debate for I think inner beauty shines stronger than the exterior. @CoutureaFerocia

  • @shrubbmeister1 You and most guys have been ruined by pictures of airbrushed 13-year-old Victoria's Secret models. What a pity.

  • My favorite part of this song is how incredibly uncomfortable this guy looks...

  • Love that she had such wonderfully voluptuous lines as a dancer, so womanly and yet, unexpectedly athletic at the same time.I don't know that I've seen any dancer who moved like her.

  • Great observation and I think it was Gwen's amazing ability to move sexier than any human ever that was the secret to Bob Fosse's successful and distinct style@HumbleHarry

  • Fantastical

  • Excellent version.
