All these years, we thought Jessica was Clint's daughter. This was one of the best twists in the history of the show.

If only ABC got their heads out of their asses, we wouldn't have to watch this show online in 2012.

Roscoe was great and sufficiently creepy as Mitch but more than eight years later and I still HATE the retcon that Viki had twins unknowingly and that Gnat is the Buchanan heiress. I still wish that before the show goes off the air (network tv at least) that the writers will fix that and make Jessica Clint's biological daughter.

@devane85 You know I kind of agree with that. Natalie is tiring. And this whole thing now with Brody blah blah...I kinda think it would have been more interesting to have Natalie come on the show as Mitch's daughter instead of Viki's.

Besides giving birth to Jessica, Viki is also said to have forgotten -- being a teen bride -- giving birth to Megan -- where she left her car keys -- how to ride a bike -- part of a dream she once had -- some people at her high school reunion -- the words to that song everybody used to like AND (per rumors) -- where she parked her car once at the mall. Vikis many post-delivery / selective-amnesia spells. cause her so much baby-mama / trauma-drama. ;D

I LOVE Mitch Laurence, BUT I don't want him to be Jessica's father either. I hope it turns out he made the whole thing up just to torment Viki. That would make a whole lot more sense than him drugging and raping her.

You know, I don't really know that myself. I don't remember them giving an exact reason; I think that Mitch was just obsessed with taking everything Viki had, and getting so-called "revenge" for what he percived Viki "did to him" and all that. I think he wanted a child, and I guess maybe he chose Viki because he wanted to hurt her and cement himself in her family.

I feel like it started out as wanting her money then snowballed into a obsession with her, and this warped sense of entitlement.

That's actually a really good explanation of the situation, in my opinion. I would like to add that I think Mitch had / has (who knows on soaps?) a sort of God complex.

Yeah, that too. He really believed he had all this power, and that he was above others. He really seemed to think he was actually some kind of preacher later on too, as opposed to just pretending it

Yes Mitch is obsessed w/ Viki & her past. Maybe the reason is that Mitch (w/ his cult-leader dad) once lived in "Eterna" city [remember the Eterna storyline? LOL] -- and he knew who Viki was -- but she (not knowing him) met, married & had Megan w/ Roger Gordon instead  creating an vendetta in new cult-leader, Mitch. LOL OK I know it sounds far-fetched but then again, so does everything about Vikis past. =D BTW -- Roscoe Born is a GREAT Actor! =D

Thanks =D If I were a Writer for the show this would be the plot... ;) 1) Mitch Lawrence's Under-Cover-Cult' has a connection to Victor Lord's Under-Ground "City" (Eterna) 2) Mitch's obsession w/ Viki (& her having his child) is due to a "prophecy" given in his childhood hometon (Eterna City) that it would make him a rich, powerful "ruler" one day (like his "idol" Victor).

Spencer Truman=Mitch Lawrence's son he had w/ Emma Bradley (a member of Mitch's dad's cult who lived in 'Eterna') David Vickers=Megan Gordon's fraternal twin (Viki forgot she had him when her dad Victor stole him & gave him to Mitch's cult dad to be raised by Emma Bradley). Now .. "here" is where the plot takes on a "crazy" twist ...LOL ... =D

BOTH actresses who've played the role of Jessica (Erin Torpey & Bree Williamson) do LOOK like they COULD actually be the daughters of 'Mitch' (Roscoe Born -- one of THE BEST actors seen anywhere ever). In the episode where Mitch tells Jessica that she is his daughter -- their eyes (& other facial features) were SO similar that they actually did look like they were related &, had I not known better, I WOULD have thought they hired 'a father-daughter acting team' for that episode. =D.
