Squire's a ghost, ergo he died. I guess poor Squire was murdered before he could become a knight, and his father had to bury him and probably had to struggle with grief at the loss of his child. Maybe we should have seen Squire's father sobbing at his little boy's headstone and blaming himself for sending his son on that dangerous quest.

Anyways I used to live in a house with a attic and I heard all sorts of scary stuff above my bedroom ceiling. When we moved out we cleaned it out, having stored items up there. Most of the boxes had holes in it and poop, which meant rats. Still it was pretty scary place and hot as heck in the summer.
The ponies have a wonderfull slumber party, till Patch tells a story about a pony named Sqire who wanted to be a knight. But while trying to, the drangen he was fighting diaaapered. After the story, the ponies fear that the dragen, or Sqire, is hiding in the attic. But in the end, Patch gets a thank you from Sqire as a ghost.
