  • Insane.

  • Still my fave of all the MC tribute shorts.=) Zombie is a nice touch.

  • Awesome video, sorry it took so long to subscribe, I remember once you did a Michael Myers vs Jason video, how about doing one where one of those 2 guys takes on Matt Cordell, or how about all 3 of them going at it that would be epic, ps whats your thoughts on Maniac Cop 4 do you think Cordell will return.

  • thanks. well im done making horror fan films. i personally would rather do original things. regarding maniac cop 4. its not happening. that much i know.

  • Great job

  • this was pretty sick good luck i actually meet the original maniac cop robert zdar in chicago at a strip club ! did ya know he was an actual chicago cop? sick

  • yeah. robert and i talk on the phone quite often. he will be a part of this project if it happens.

  • wait this is your film? so how can anyone else own the rights to it?

  • this is my short film. i didnt make the 3 feature films back in the 80's an 90's. i only made these 2 short films. someone else owns maniac cop franchise. i made the shorts to prove to the owners i can handle their intellectual property.

  • ohhhh

  • Nice promo waht kind of camera and lighting you used?

  • i shot it on a sony hdfx1 and used all natural lighting and a strobe light for the club.

  • A Slasher series about an undead policeman. How this little gem ended up in the 'under-rated horror movies' list, I'll NEVER know.

  • hah, yeah, right when i clicked post i heard him sing 'more human than human'. goes to show how much i know my white zombie. watching your version of manic cop right now. =]

  • oh man, electric head was perfect for this.

  • i didnt use electric head, i used "more human than human". i used electric head on my other short called "the backseat".

  • D'ya know if they will re-make it? Cuz I heard that Lustig finally has the rights back, and they actually want to do a sequel. But I don't know if anything is in progress.

  • no. thats a bogus story. larry cohen owns all the rights and i am dealing with him directly right now.

  • Awesom, dude! Good luck with everything! After that bomb of a Halloween sequel someone needs to show 'em how it's done. I can't wait for this one. Just do me a few favors:

    1. Bring back Robert Davi

    2. Please, no crooks with grimy teeth.

And 3. Bring back that badass machine gun Cordell used in that police station shoot-up in part 2. I've commented on that already; just check out the comments under "Maniac Cop: Police Station Massacre" to learn more. Excelsior.

  • done, done and done. you got it.

  • What are your plans for casting the Maniac Cop himself? Bring back Z'Dar?

  • z'dar has a big part in this, but he wont play matt. he will be playing matt's lawyer.

  • i like rob zombies songs bt not all of them i like this one because of that women's orgasm. yeah baby yeah!! oh i almost forgot MANIAC COP RULES!!!

  • Great work man. Not a fan of the music used but otherwise I loved it. The actor you got to play Cordell did a good job, his body language was very close to Z'Dar's

  • Awsome film! You should do the next Maniac cop movie. You should do Matt's jaw bigger, but other then that great job. Can't wait for the next one.

  • Well done, intense! I Hope you dont mind me saying but Cordell does need the trademark Z'Dar jaw, nothing a little prosthetics cant fix. Other than that, great job.

  • This is good. The only thing you need to work on is getting Matt a bigger jaw. Maybe you could get a dinosaur jaw and strap it to the bottom of your head.

  • WOW! That was even more intense than the first one chris,Cordell spares no one!

Good luck in getting this remade officially,I hope you succeed.

  • will you keep the Matt Cordell character?

  • wouldnt be a maniac cop movie without him

  • Amazing!

  • blinky has done it again! great job

  • I'm still not completely convinced about remakes (or re-imaginings) of old movies which weren't any good to begin with (at least in my opinion). I consider your work to be far too good to go down that road like nowadays' crappy mainstream cinema (AKA Hollywood). But I also believe you might be able to improve whatever value this story has and turn it into something pretty cool. So good luck, but don't forget about those of us who love your original works (and superhero shorts).

  • thanks for your words. fear not, i am not falling off the beaten path and selling out. i infact plan to put my skills to the test to see exactly how good i really am. a remake is by far, the hardest thing to successfully do. and i think if i can make a cheesey 80's movie into modern day blockbuster that is loved by both old and new fans, i think i might just be on to something. but fear not, horror isnt the only thing i want to do. i have a lot on my plate and you will be happy when it happens.

  • Incredible!

  • Your awsome you know.

  • thank you.

  • omg i'm sooo thrilled! And is it just me,or the cop has...scars?Maybe i'm just fantasizing with Cop!Joker ha ha

I can't wait to watch the whole thing!:D

  • do a google search for maniac cop and see what you've been missing.

  • Awesome, good luck

  • White Zombie is a good band for this. Always my favorite band. Fantastic video too!

  • I don't know if that was the right music for the feeling of the film. The lyrics were good but the tempo wasn't it.

I ope you get the rights though.

  • you kidding? the tempo was great. it was heavy, angry and thunderous. the song has quite often been associated with character moments like this. i think it was a perfect choice. if you watch the first film i did, the tempo was slow and eerie whereas in this film, its like watching water boil.

  • Yeah but that's part of the suspense. Horror films aren't done like that anymore. It's all about flashing scary images in your face.

Frankly I miss the days of Alfred Hitchcock (the greatest horror director of all time if you ask me) where you were more scared of what could happen then a cheap flash of something scary happening. It made it more realistic because the real world plays trick on you just like those movies did.

  • watch my first maniac cop short, its listed above. then watch my other film ADJUSTED. if you like alfred hitchcock, you will like ADJUSTED. and dont forget, maniac cop is not just a horror movie, but an action movie too. cant ignore the action fans out there. so i wanted to give a little something to everyone. a slow paced eerie short and a fast paced action short.

  • Dude, I've seen all your work (on Youtube anyway). I wouldn't bother commenting if I didn't think there was enough good in it to warrant constructive criticism.

I liked your other Maniac Cop clip too. It seemed closer to the source material but then again you wouldn't want to completely copy the original.

Of course I've seen Adjusted. I liked it a lot. That girl was a bitch and deserved to die... ha ha ha ha.

  • lol. thanks man.

  • It is interesting, cops are there to protect us, but what if one was crazy, you think you were running to help, just to find your death.

  • Awesome as always, Chris! :D

  • I mow lawns for two elderly folk and one of them is a film editor/producer. Don't know if that would be much help or not.

  • Wicked!!!...but you are a little late. All cops are already maniacs!!!..

    Good luck, tho'!!!

  • awesome, i hope ur plan works.

  • amazing Chris What was that shot, edited,on u-tube in 17 hours ? lol

I have been in films that are still editing after 2 years. you should give filmaking lessons.

  • Damn!! Dude that was brilliant, amazing! I loved the music and how quick the kills were! Good Job!!

  • Awesome!

  • this was CRAZY AWESOME

  • Wow, nice promo. Looks great. Good Luck

  • As if I even need to say, at this point, how amazing your work is, Mr. Notarile.

  • ill try and see if i can help market this for you, i know a friend who's dad is a vfx artist and has worked on lots of movies like the original "the thing" and "pirates of the caribbean" ill see if i can help you out with this

  • wow, his face looks awesome X_X

  • i hope a good investor sees this, there money would be put to good use with your talents at Blinky productions, good luck chris.

  • Wow dude. Totally hoping you get the franchise rights. Haven't seen the original, but this was awesome. LOVED the use of "More Human Than Human" as the cop slaughters everyone.

  • Very good. Here is hoping you find some sound investors for this.

  • Good video :)

    Nice usage of Dope

  • Why did the guy with the gun try and use it as a club? That's what a baseball bat is for. If you're going to have a gun, you stay away from the target and shoot, not run up to them and give them an easy target.

  • beating up a cop is not as bad as shooting a cop. he was thinking logically. nor did he know what he was up against.

  • That still doesn't explain why he used a gun as a club. Again, a baseball bat, a a 2 by 4, a golf club, those are better choices than giving someone a much better weapon if you lose.

  • does it really matter? this is a short film about a "maniac" cop with a scarred up face whose come back from the dead and kills people. out of all the fantastical elements, the guy using the shotgun to hit a person is the only thing you cant get passed?

  • Its suspension of disbelief, you can let the fantastic stuff float by because everything else makes sense. Hence why in horror movies, they complain about the girl showering in an unlocked house, but not about the zombies, vampires, or undead serial killers.

But don't get me wrong. I love your stuff like there's no tomorrow. I'm just a very big nitpicker.

  • i get you. next time youre at a club, ask the owner what they would do if a cop came in a killed 2 people. most owners would subdue the person, drag em out back and deal with them there vs blowing their head off in front of everyone. you have a good point, but any business owner would try to avoid gunfire inside a club simply because its bad for business.

  • This is soo going to rock. =-) Good luck Chris.
