Actually the 135 automatic (2008-2010) does 0-60 in 5.3 sec... The manual with a professional drive does it in 4.7sec... this video is bull... or this automatic has a stg 1 JB3 or Vishnu tune... good for 40-50 crank hp which would make the automatic do 0-60 in about 4.7 sec.. Motortrend and car and driver have been cought5 testing cars with tunes on them when posting performance figures, JUST a WARNING!!!!

@hsinhunglin U need to understand..... BMW performance numbers are measured WITHOUT Launching the car. This is so people dont have to launch the car and induce wear or damage to achive the numbers they are promised!

At 0:22 you can clearly see the car squat as the driver uses brake-Boost technique to Launch the car.... hence the numbers! So no BMW Does Not Lie, other companies use cheap tactics and exaggerate to look better.

This is sad..... it's not even a "fair" comparison. You have a 4 door sedan, and a 2 door coupe. The 1 series is SMALL...... much smaller than it's brother the 335i, and smaller than the Evo X. Which equates to it being LIGHTER. Eh.... I'd want to see a comparison on the SEDANS, since that's the same CLASS, Evo X sedan and BMW 335i sedan. That's the same class.

BMW uses twin turbo on inline 6 and Mitsubishi 2.0 four cylinder with turbo productin 300HP. Japanese engineering is way superior.

i doubt japanese enginering is superior. bmw has had vanos/valvetronic for a while which is proved to be better than anything thats come out of japan and the recent a-vtec from honda is not close to that and valvematic from toyota is shown to probably be better than bmw's, except bmw's valvetronic/vanos works with higher rpms versus toyotas valvematic which has not seen high rpms. besides japan has a engine displacment tax requiring high hp with small displacment engines.

The EVO just has a bigger turbo with MUCH higher boost, 19.1 PSI.

.This high boost causes a TON of turbo lag. My friend owns a 2009 EVO X, and if he's in the wrong gear, it barely moves at all.

The BMW only has 8 PSI of boost; when increased to 13 PSI it makes 390 HP!

The 135i engine is a GEM. I actually just test drove one two weeks ago.

It's so smooth and really, really quick.

Mistubishi and BMW just have different approaches to engines.
