3 expansions later Desert Combat is still superior to BF2.

And BF2142 is twice the game BF2 is in terms of polished gun play.

The combat over all and especially the infantry combat is so much better in BF2142.

@jtruls without EA, most of the games we know and love wouldn't exist. As a matter of fact, when I first started gaming, I played EA games almost exclusively. I don't fully understand where all of this misplaced hatred for EA comes from, when thanks to them we have so many great games to choose from. If I got sick on EA, it would be from consuming more than my fair share of gaming goodness!

@z4chm4n44 Actually, EA doesn't make that many games. When you see their logo on a game, 90% of the time they are they publisher. The only big games they constantly make are sport IP's. Since they fund a project and take some of the profit (publishing) and do it in a way that every choice they make is based around money, people get mad.

I have to agree with you that the original bf's (especially bf2) were better than the newer bad company series, however bad company and bc2 are still amazing games (at least on console) and are definately a great edition to the bf series.  In my opinion, its still a great way for console owners to get the bf experience without needing a decent pc. But bf3 wil change all that anywyas.

Halo was the flagship of the xbox, it proved that there can be good fpss on consoles... theatre was helpful in machinima, again showing there could be something like it on a console. methinks people who say halo is very innovative mean how innovative it is in a game ON a console, not the bigger picture

VALVe made the game Half-Life and they wanted to have a feel with the community. So, they gave out the programming code. Anyone could edit the code thus making a mod for the game which anyone could download and install it into Half-Life. Counter Strike was a major success and then they made it into a game. The box actually had 3 games. Counter Strike, Half-Life, and Team Fortress 2. Half-Life started it.
