@JoshuaPadraig92 Lovely sentiment, but a point of fact for you and all Roman Catholics, is that the Orthodoxy are actually "The" Catholic Church - the definite article, the true and original Catholic Church, founded by Jesus Christ - as opposed to the Roman Catholic Church, created by the Pope in 1054 when he broke away from the True Church. Something to think about, huh??
@MDIS actually Orthodox pray more than 7 times, but only who are strong in belief.
except 7 times prayers (6:00; 9:00; 12:00; 15:00; 18:00; 21:00; 00:00) strong Orthodox Christians pray morning and evening prayers. but for example I pray only morning and evening prayers and in lents adding some prayers.
and Orthodox prays are 7 times because David the Psalmist says: ''Seven times a day I praise you''
@2Nikolaos3 Actualy, the Orthodox Christians are obliged to pray all the time,prayer of hearth should never stop, your every breath should say "Lord Jesus Christ, Son and Word of God, have mercy on me , for i am sinfull" (bad translation, sorry)
@2Nikolaos3 I said that cause people of other faiths , like muslims have 5 prayers a day, and nothing more than that, unlike Christians from which God seeks the atention of man all the time. No i am not priest.
@MDIS besides how our Catholicos-Patriarch of all Georgia Ilia II says 7 times prayers have strong power because in these time pray millions of people and the God says: ''For where there are two or three assembled in my name, there am I in the midst of them."
@MDIS I don't know where you get your information but in the roman catholic Church of which I am a member, prayer is likewise a raising of the heart and mind to God, continually, not just at specific times. We do also have the custom of praying the psalms at set times of the day, midnight, daybreak, midmorning, noon, mid afternoon, evening and night, seven times!
I love watching everything about the coptic orthodox church (I'm romanian orthodox), all christian orthodox (byzantine style) chantings are so beautiful, you never get tired of it, it goes straight thru your heart and awakens your spirit.
@nordary these people gave their lives for the people of our community what have you giving stay away from these people the is with them shame on you i seen these preist as i grew up and has done more for me and thousands of people , tell me what have you done for human kind no be at peace and leave this holy place
Thank you. I've been checking out the other videos of the various Divine Liturgies and I want to compliment the Parish of St Mary. These are beautiful services to behold. This is a marvelous way to celebrate and spread the joy of Orthodoxy worldwide. I'm sorry I don't have ny means to contribute financialy to this aweinspiring project, but rest assured the parish and the clergy one and all are in my prayers. Thank you again and may God continueto Bless you and Grant you many many years.

This is how the proper hymms should be done and not done in simple plain english or british english as it is widely practiced worldwide.
I believe that in a beautiful and chanting intonation , your beautiful worsship and prayers will then be heard by Almighty God.
That is why the Arabic and English and Greek hymm is done in such manner .
I love this and i do not like the more orchestra version of the latin churches.

@MDIS
yeah, I'm not impressed by the latin churches either.....orchestra version....
