The game was great to watch and basketball fans seeing PC with the lead and the best team win the game down the line knew that the PC team was more than a test for any team facing them!
tigerjeb, you really can't be serious. With Barnes playing at full strength the whole game they would have easily won the game. My God, Providence had to play Fran Costello at center, he was 6'7" and I doubt he could dunk the ball, today he would have been an off guard. When Barnes came back in he couldn't jump, he just dragged his leg up and down the court. It was pathetic. Memphis was good, but Providence would have won if it wasn't for the injury.
barnes came back and played in the second half of that game. MSU was just better with Kenon and Robinson inside and would have won even if barnes hadnt missed some of the game

Can't believe Barnes got hurt, they would have steamrolled Memphis State rather than lose to and they would have given Walton's team some big trouble in the Final

ESPN Classic should bring this final four show back in an updated form.
I could see it now: ESPN presents the 2007 Final Four featuring the Georgetown Hoyas, Ohio State Buckeyes, UCLA Bruins, and the Florida Gators.

They should have Bob Ley doing it also.

I agree with you on Ley.

That Ernie D pass at 2:50 is absolutely incredible. Behind-the-back and a pinpoint pass between two defenders.

I followed Providence religiously that year and I'll never forget it. Ernie D., and the rest of the team were my heroes.

Ernie is my uncle.

No question Providence was the 2nd best team in the country that year.
