Hasbro is releasing Elita-1 as a Chromia repaint, while Takara Tomy is releasing Elita-1 as an Arcee repaint. just a bit of subtlety between the 2 sister companies.

Actually, it's not black -- it appears to be more of a black and purple, if not a dark purple shade. It's really hard to make out the colors since the picture quality isn't the best. It still is quite disappointing that Elita-1 won't get her own mold, yet Bumblebee is getting another one. I guess it's because Arcee and Chromia are shelfwarmers, unfortunately.

i have a feeling, hasbro never really intended to develop an Elita-1 toy ever since Bay scrapped the combined mode, but had to come up with something because of fans clamoring for an Elita 1 fembot figure.

I think the thing with Bayformers is that if you like the design--you'll like the toy. This is a fairly movie-accurate, good toy, it's the design of the character that a lot of TransFans are bashing.

I don't mind the designs of the Arcee triplets myself.

i'm not sure if Hasbro is still pursuing an Elita-1 figure.

Nothing against your review--you always give good reviews, and in this case it's good to see a different viewpoint--but I'm still with all the people that hate this figure. It's just a horrendous design. You could just as well take two broken toys, tie a metal wire between them, and call it a design. We'll see if they actually combine--after what happened with the constructicons and twins, I'm not convinced the toys are designed for that.

1. Pressing the lisense plate while pushing the blade in. (That'll cause problems)

2. Not pushing the blade far enough in. (You have to really get it in there for it to lock.)

the reason i'm doing those things you mentioned is because the damn blade is already broken. trust me, the figure i got is a quality control reject. i used to it by now. 10% of what i buy from hasbro has quality issues, be it TFs, star wars, joes, or marvel

i just luv this arcee figure. and the combination mode is a lot more complex than just ack to back to back. i saw a picture of it and with arcee and chromia i already have the back part down. cant wait till elita 1 or flareup comes out. absolutely luv this figure.

Actually I've seen many customs doing combinations w/ Arcee and Chromia making a very unpleasant super robot-orgy mode (by SEANxLONG) but she's probably the most unique of all the unicycle robots I've seen so far (BM Thrust, ROTF Demolishor and ROTF Chromia) and with a plus of super-poseable spine.

Yes those ball joints are a bane to the figure. Still love it though. My Arcee's energy dagger still pops out and stays in nicely. The sidecar makes her stable to let her roll when you push her. Thanks for showin me another way to store the sidecar.
