  • fhvfbvhvcbdfvfbvhjcb et ntcjdmvxtcncmxevcmjitdtx!!

  • this video made my day! fuck you Richard

  • To Much Tea Drinking...........Don`t Drink And Drive Kids!!!

  • Has this campaign been successful?

  • If you were wearing a goddamn seatbelt when that happened, your spline would be torn apart.

  • i think these videos are hard hitting but effective. many people dont think until they have seen things like this :/

  • Damn British

  • @olddrunkbastard fuck `you prick im british!

  • drink milk...

  • air bags dont go on witaudh belt

  • I know of two people in my family alone who were actually killed by their seat belts. The belts actually decapitated them. Yet youtube is riddled with videos of drunk drivers smashing into cars head on without them and living with minor damage. Let be honest here: in a controlled test, yes seat belts are more helpful. However, the road in the lab and the road outside are not the same.

  • @ITTutorCanada I'm sorry you had to experience your family members being killed by seatbelts. I can't imagine how you feel. As far I know, seatbelts can be risky (especially if the person wearing one is very short/small), but the risk of not wearing a seatbelt tends to be more than the risk of wearing one and that is why it is encouraged to wear seatbelts. I'm small and I don't want to be thrown around in a car accident so that's why I wear my seatbelt. Good day.

  • @ITTutorCanada How fast were they travelling though?

  • @FoxyBomb Not entirely sure. It was two separate accidents. Never really asked... the one (my uncle) I'm sure wasn't going crazy fast or anything just because of what I know of my aunt, she wouldn't have it lol. The other gent I can't be so sure of. Also these accidents were years ago to be fair and they have learned a lot. There were many seat belt designs which ended up doing things like having people slide right out of them, etc etc.

  • @ITTutorCanada oh... I'm sorry that happened. but if the person is a young child or has growing issues then it could happen. That can happen though in a freak car accident

  • i bench press 140kgs, would this be a problem for me?

  • Good grief...all these people complaining about seat belts.

If you really don't want to wear one - it's your life.

But don't try to legitimatize stupidity by saying seat belts are dangerous.

The laws are just trying to protect morons from killing themselves.

Seriously though - how much effort does it take to use a seat-belt?

  • the seat belt's gonna cut your body diagonally anyways. :p

  • Ok! This is what I said, wearing seatbelts should be a choice not a law. I never said that seat belts dont save lives, but they can take lives also. I personally know 2 people that died because of seat belts, another post claims 3, so it probably occurs more than you think. And as far as the seat belt burning off, its a little to late then dont ya think. And as far as the sear belt comeing off just because it is in water is just plain stupid, if the belt is damages then water wont help it.

  • ok ok ok ok i swear i'll wear it!! i will i will!!

  • One thing for everyone seatbelts prevent ejection being thrown around and you organs will move but not as fast. Seatbelts do come with a load limiter which gives you somewhat amount of slack before you get clamped down.

  • ...and i know 1 million who died not wearing seatbelts....and still counting

  • okay guys SEAT BEALT DOES SAVE LIVES!!! WEAR THEM!! BUUUTTT!!!!! i know three persons not wearing seat belts and in MAJOR accidents they got saved cause they flew outta the car and didnt get squished in the car... so it saves life..but sometimes it doesnt

  • @thebouboule101 It's almost unheard of people having less injuries by being ejected from the car rather than staying in the vehicle. I spent 17 years in the Fire Service and never saw a good outcome with people being thrown out of a vehicle.

  • ewww ewww ewww eewwww eewwwwww im never going outaide anywhere again eww eww ewww

  • They dont tell you about the people that have burned alive or drowned in a car because of seat belts, my husband saw a woman burn alive because her seat belt was stuck, I have a neice that would be dead today if she would have been wearing a seat belt. Wearing a seat belt should be a personal choice, I know that I would not want to drown or burn alive especially because I was made to wear a seat belt !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @NJW7252 Listen, in a really bad accident, nothing can save you, but I hit a pole with my car, at a speed of 20 km / h and I almost broke my neck . That's because I have not worn belt. Believe me, the belt can save your life.

  • Comment removed

  • @NJW7252 that doesnt happen very often and is least likely to happen. if the car was sinking the belt would come off. fire once it started yeah it could come off

  • thanks for the educated breakdown:)

  • I'm a bit confused, I thought seat belts were to prevent people from being tossed in and out of the car, but how would it prevent his internal organs from hitting his ribs? The seat belt would have stop his body from being jerked forward, yes, but his organs would still be moving at the same speed they were.

  • so it wasnt the 200 pints of beer he had before getting in his car then ?

  • @jord23790 he hit the air bag before it could fully inflate, and hit it at a harder rate since the seat belt didn't hold him back. it cracked his ribs, and the broken rib punctured his organs. It wouldn't have happened had he been wearing a seat belt.

  • @svu3elliv the seatbelts would have broken his ribs even worse... in a speed of 65 km/h + nothing helps in a front to front crash.

  • @svu3elliv the seatbelts would have broken his ribs even worse... in a speed of 65 km/h + nothing helps in a front to front crash.

  • Seat belt can tear your liver apart, which is way worse, a slow death.

It can also break your rib cage. Or it can also jam when fire is roasting your alive.

  • Seat belts if anything help the ribs break and puncture your organs because of how small it is.

  • pha that happened to me yesterday

  • prolly hurts so fucking much

  • @MrJerry160 He hit his head possibly rendering him unconcious, his flailed chest would of caused blood to flow into lungs and the preasure would cause the lung from further expanding, and the torn valve would cause a quick and speedy death since no oxygen is entering the body, causing his brain cells to die off. He probally didn't feel anything after the hit on the head.

  • i just got the chills 0:30

  • so wouldnt your seatbelt stop you just as fast as your airbag would? Im pretty sure thats y they banned it.... b/c you die the EXACT same way wearing a fucking seatbelt.

  • Is that even allowed to be shown on t.v. ? I think it got banned and they were sued idk o.e

  • That's the craziest driving safety commercial I've ever seen.

  • i was wearing a seatbelt as a passenger when suddenly my partner had to slam on the brakes to avoid a crash but my head still hit the dashboard, how can that happen?

  • Seatbelt+Richard=Dies faster

  • in this case, a seat belt would have killed him faster.

  • How would the seat belt have stopped his internal organs from hitting his ribs?

  • @jord23790 It wouldn't have. If anything, the airbag provided better cushioning of the impact than the seat belt. The seat belt would have done more damage in this case considering it completely locks up.

    Overall, this ad isn't accurate.

  • @jord23790

Less momentum and less overall movement.

  • @TheFlowerShield lesser rate of change of momentum..the momentum is the same moron

  • @Sameh90 No need to be stupid.

  • @jord23790 If he had his seat belt on his movement would have been restrained, he wouldn't have had the same amount of momentum when his chest hit the air bag, which would've kept him from running into the steering wheel, and his internal organs wouldn't have been moving that fast which would've kept them from running in to his broken ribs. All of the protective pieces in your car work together to keep you alive.

  • @jord23790 and the rest 30 ppl that thumped up, it wouldn't... BUT his body would move forward for LESS distance so the developing speed of his body travelling WOULD BE LESS and the power(or pressure) with which his internal organs would hit his ribs would be LOWER! so the commercial has a point.

  • @jord23790 it would have held back his internal organs...if he would have his seat belt on, the internal organs wouldn't have had such a deadly impact on his ribs, if any impact at all.

  • @jord23790 Larger surface area of the seatbelt compated to the steering wheel equals less pressure on the ribs, less velocity means less momentum. Both factors that would stop the ribs from breaking and the internal organs from rupturing.

  • @jord23790 because he carried on travelling, if he had his seatbelt on he wouldnt of carried on trravelling are you seriously that dumb?

  • @jord23790 Well if you don't understand this, I'm not sure I can help you but the word you are looking for would be momentum - everything you can do to reduce momentum in a controlled manner helps. A seat-belt may seem unforgiving to you but in a crash it stretches, substantially reducing your speed. The natural position of the belt, in a normal sized person, will distribute the force on your hips and chest, just at the points your body is best suited to absorb trauma best.

  • @jord23790 A seatbelt stops graduatly and slows you down bit by bit (Eventually it just stops) but when it does stop you are slowed down a bit already.

In a crash you can see a white 'poof' of smoke by the seatbeat, that's what is saving you.

  • wow thats grotesque...............

  • fake

  • did you know if there are two people in a car your wearing your seat belt and the other person is not, in a rollover crash, the most likely cause of death is the other persons head smashing into yours?

  • woah

  • So the seat belt would have help in this sinario how? I use mine all the time but I though they were to prevent ejection.

  • Since my serious car accident, even though I had no injuries whatsoever without a seatbelt, I always buckle up.

Untill you experience the same thing, you probably won't.

  • RIP RICHARD :(

  • This reminds me of a Mortal Kombat X-Ray

  • Man, physics is a bitch. Its about time that they started getting into the gory part of it. Pussy footing around doesn't convince people.

  • WEAR A FUCKING SEATBELT, YOU STUPID FUCKS. Like speeding? Fuck off to Silverstone.

  • cool story bro..

  • at least airbags hurt to take your ming off ur organs

  • o shit!

  • @TheOriginalCals no, that;s only for people who suck at riding a bike...

  • its not that hard to put on a simple seat belt

  • so I guess Richard lost this game of chicken?

    ...

seriously. These ads are so unrealistic. "Oh hey i'm just going to drive down this road and in the slim chance another car swerves and stays in my lane I think I won't move out of the way or slow down. I'll just hit it head on." these commercials are idiotic. It's common sense to wear a seat belt, if you're too stupid to not wear one and you survive an accident then your stupidity will probably kill you another time.

  • oooo yeaaA¿ the seat belt can breake ur lounges too

  • great, now i have to find a cabanaboi29 comment...

  • Personally, I think seat belts should be of choice.

  • @SidewayzRB26 Personally,i think your an idiot.think of the family and friends you WILL leave behind if this was to happen to you!

  • @SidewayzRB26 until you die

  • @chrish847 Well that's also my choice.

  • @SidewayzRB26 a VERY VERY bad choice though

  • @SidewayzRB26 Totally agree, helmets also. just 3 conditions:

    > Until 21 helmets & belts are obligatory. Most accidents occur before 21 + one gets used to these safety features. This also ensures children's safely, since they are to young to choose.

    > Health insurance premiums rise for those who opt to do without. (In case of fraud one joins the chain gang to reimburse the insurance company.)

    > Only in combination with reinforced windshields/airbag to protect oncoming drivers from corpses.

  • @Nomasain

Exactly right mate. Until 21 I totally agree with.

Couldn't agree more with the rest. Nice one man :)

  • some guy crashed into me head on so hard, i didn't hit the steering wheel and dashboard, the steering wheel and the dashboard hit me, and seatbelt saved my life

  • real christians dont need to wear a seatbelt because we are protected by God

  • stupid film!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • He doesnt even hit the windscreen, he hits the airbag.

  • Wow I just learned something

  • how the fuck is that scenes of a graphical nature, if you want graphical nature go and watch 3 guys 1 hammer. now that is graphical

  • Lesson learn..Don't be Richard or else xD

  • Either way this is no help to people they will still continue not to wear seat belts, espeially in mexico

  • @MMMercedess209 thats racist!

  • This is why we fine you for not wearing it, its for your own good, just looking out for you like always. Love (always) Big Brother.

  • lesson learnd, ride a bike...

  • @zenthex1234 Yeah ride a bike. At least you will DIE when you crash and not feel to much pain

  • @SMGJohn great job fishing out my 2 month old comment, you deserve a medal.

  • @zenthex1234 was easy. I only had to scroll down a little and there it was. Just shining to be replayed

  • @SMGJohn you think i give a shit 2 months later? no, i don't...

  • @zenthex1234 Well I made my statement so I am an happy man!

  • @SMGJohn yep, AN happy man...

  • @SMGJohn but what if you crash gently, you may feel pain.. :)

  • @friedchicken1981 Crash gently with a bike and you feel pain!? Sure I suppose it happens very often. But isn't feeling pain better then to die?

  • @SMGJohn all i'm saying is with a bike you always lose in a crash with a car

  • @friedchicken1981 Yeah that's quit obvious. Sometimes you fly a mile or you land inside the engine of the car when you crash with it

  • @zenthex1234 good call, i hope you don't get caught under any vehicles!

  • @Eman8333 good luck!

  • @zenthex1234 Richard didn't want to die... but he couldn't stop himself...the collision with the curb, didn't kill him but he continued on his journey, when he flew off his bike, that didn't kill him either but he wasn't wearing a helmet... so when he hit the street his skull smashed open...and fragments of his skull went into his brain....and that's what killed Richard.

  • @Roxervids it's called a helmet, have you ever heard of it?

  • @zenthex1234 Thats the point people can always not wear a helmet rather than not wear a seatbelt I mentioned not wearing a helmet in my comment.

  • @Roxervids wearing a seatbelt isn't a guantee that you will live in a crash, helmets aren't either. but wearing a helmet on a bike is way more effective then wearing a seatbelt in a car.

  • @zenthex1234

head on crash bike with helmet vs car with seat belt, whos gonna win?

  • @frickinasshle bike has the right away, assuming i was obeying the rules, me, or my family can sue the driver for all he's worth.

  • @zenthex1234

hey if someone's pedaling a bike on the street on like the opposite side of the road... and hits a car.. and dies... can you still sue him for bein on the opposite side of the road?

  • @frickinasshle i don't know about suing. but obvously if he's the one breaking the law, he's the one at fault. same thing foes for pedestrians...

  • @zenthex1234 Theres no seatbelts on a bike. (and I'm a chicago fixed gear cyclist.)

  • @zenthex1234 cos they have seatbelts don't they

  • "And thus end the story of Richard.."

  • drive volvo

  • I may be wrong, but wouldn't the airbag have a longer stopping time, thus being more safe than a seatbelt? A seatbelt's stopping time must be less than that of an air bag; and the shorter the stopping time, the more likely you are to suffer internal organ damage like that. Please enlighten me if I am, in fact, wrong.

  • @XxFreebirdxX

Indeed. Especially considering that all the force is applied via 2 thin seat belt strips. Seat belts are to stop people from flying all over the car, nothing to do with protecting internal organs. There's no magic pill to save people when crashing at high speeds.

  • @kirkey99 you know why not, cause if you hit the dashboard from a distance is different than some strip holding you, the seatbelt is already attached to your body so you won't hit it, it makes all the difference

  • @friedchicken1981 Did you not watch the clip? How are you going to "attach the seatbelt" to your internal organs, genius?

I wouldn't mind explaining about the forces exerted at different stages of the crash as a result of the transfer of energy between the objects in question and the resultant injuries expected throughout human body in different scenarious. The trouble is, judging from your comments, your understanding of the topic is too simplistic for you to actually grasp any of the concepts.

  • @kirkey99 you don't know what the hell your talking about obviously man

  • @XxFreebirdxX it might be like this: you hit the airbag cause it is far from your body, you don't hit the seatbelt because it is attached to your body, conclusion, hitting something from a distance harms more than something simply holding you back

  • When I was younger so was I somewhat sceptical about the seat belt but since I've taking driving licence so am I using it everytime when I'm driving, even on shorter distances. I just don't get why some peoples are so stubborn to not use seat belts.

  • my names richard............... :O

  • your heart can actually rip off and instantly kill you in a car crash, especially if you're not wearing a seatbelt.

  • HOLY SHIT THATS FUCKED!!!

  • This isnt any worse than what you see on 1000 Ways to Die...

  • so what is it saying ? that if u wear a sit belt ur inside organs will stop traveling at previous speed ? do u know how many people died cuzz of the seat belt ? or how many burnt alive inside their vehicle cuzz they couldnt open the sit belt and got stucked ?

  • @mrkhoros

Well, if you prefer your internal organs getting smashed up against the steering wheel, front window or anything else then by all means, go ahead.

You are so full of shit. You've seen too many Hollywood movies. In reality cars don't fucking burn that easily. So what are you saying?? It's better to crash and become squashed 1000 times, rather than risking to be burnt alive (which never fucking happens in reality you dumbass clown, how many traffic accidents have you seen??) 1 time??

  • @McLarenMercedes dude i drive for living and none of the shits u are saying are even close to reality. is it me or perhaps is it u whos watching too many shyamala holywood shit special effects ?

  • @McLarenMercedes Oh but it does happen and more often than you think. Vehicles use gas and a ruptured gas tank in an accident only takes a spark to set them on fire.

  • @mrkhoros

Why don't you get some proper English lessons too.

Have you ANY idea how many lives were SAVED because of the seatbelt you cretin?? They are not there for the police you idiot, there are there because it has been PROVEN time and time again they SAVE lives.

So you go ahead, and crash. Then you can at least die knowing you didn't get burned to death. Dipshit.

  • @McLarenMercedes go fuck yourself. go make some research then come to me and give me crap about what uv heard in fox news.... dickhead

  • Wearing your seatbelt is just common sense. Do some research and you will see it keeps you in the crash, so you do not fly out. I was in a bad crach and I had my seatbelt on, so now I'm alive to type this. The other drive was not wearing his, the shifter went thru his leg and his head smashed the passengers window. I dislike these ads because head on crashes are rare, real life they are angled crashes causing stuff in the car to really fly.

Please people wear you seatbelts, it saves lives.

  • I am ALWAYS wearing the seatbelt when I'm traveling, but this ad is stupid!!!

The same would have happened with the seatbelt...The seatbelt stops the body from moving, but your internal organs keep moving so they crash on your bones...It's even worse with the seatbelt, cus' it completely stops moving and it's hard in contrast with the airbag which is soft and absorbs some of the body's force.

    So yeah,this ad is a joke!Completely!

  • @4400seriesFAN

Aha, so it's better when the organs stop moving when they crash into the instrument panel or front window of the car??

It's NOT even worse with a seatbelt. Geez, are you an idiot.

Listen up, the movement of the body thanks to the seatbelt is minimal, that's what the whole goddamn seatbelt is designed for.

With the seatbelt the CAR takes most of the crash. Without it your BODY takes the crash.

And for your info I've witnessed what crashes without seatbelts does to people.

  • @McLarenMercedes

    Just ROFL!

    Listen up,it's YOUR turn.

When you move at,let's say, 100Km/h,your body moves at the same speed. If you crash, the seatbelt holds the BODY but there is NOTHING to hold your organs tight,so they keep moving at 100Km/h...FACT!

Body stops but organs keep moving.

Now,if the pressure from the seatbelt to your body is too high(mostly due to high speed),your bones can break and you suffer the exact same thing!

    --->>>

  • @McLarenMercedes

--->>>When High Speed turns to a Full Stop or there is an extremely fast reduction of it,the forces of anything in your way increase dramatically.

Basically, the seatbelt is effective within a RANGE of speed.Anything higher than that, causes the same thing to what you've seen in this commercial.

For further proof, just notice that in every massive crash, people who were wearing their seatbelts, suffer from broken bones and have bruises!

Seatbelt is good but this ad is misinforming

  • During the in-class portion of Vehicle Rescue the instructors taught us that in every accident the are a minimum of 3 crashes:

    1. The car crashing into an object

    2. Your bones crashing into the car

    3. Your organs crashing into your bones

  • This video is most popular with: Gender Age

    Male 45-54

    Male 35-44

    Male 25-34

the first one is slightly disturbing. old men like watching this.

  • now see, thats how you do it. People have to see what happens before they can wrap their heads around it.

  • EVERYONE WEAR SEAT BELTS PLEASE

  • Why does this have the most viewers in the USA?

  • Would a seatbelt actually stop your inside from travelling forward. I'm aware they save lives before anyone flames me but the seatbelt only holds the ribs back doesn't it?

  • @LeoDeGrand Because it stops you so suddenly there is not enough distance for organs to accelerate enough to damage themselves or your ribcage.

  • @LeoDeGrand In this video, Richard's body had moved forward enough upon impact that his internal organs had built enough kinetic energy (The kinetic energy of an object is the energy it possesses because of its motion) to continue forward within his body to cause the mortal damage. If Richard had been wearing his seatbelt, his body would not have moved forward the distance it had and therefore his internal organs wouldn't have had sufficient kinetic energy to continue moving foward either.

  • A note:

A punctured lung, in modern society, is not that big of a deal. Especially if the bleeding is limited. But a torn Aorta? Death sentence, less than ten minutes.

  • After seeing this I reached for my seat belt and then realized Im at home

  • what makes us so important? This world is already overpopulated, its better that people die in car accidents, than some super virus kills all. We kill animals for furs. (I have nothing against hunting and I love tasty meat) Why couldn't killing be almost legal, you could only get few months in prison after killing someone, so people could decimate each others. World would simply be better with 5 billion people less.

  • You are disgusting. You want people to go around committing MURDER?

Let's see someone brutally murder your family. Better off, right?

  • @1RadicalOne Yes, it would be better, I could get they'r two houses, three cars all the'r guns and a lot, a lot of money. This world is so fucking overpopulated, I hope al qaida sends another airplane to yankeeland and soon another 3000 people would die.

  • So you value your families' money and possessions more than you value them.

    THAT in itself says enough.

  • @goldbullet50 Well, feel free to lead by example. I imagine the world will be better off without people who would be happy about their family dying.

  • @Shyhalu I don't want my family die, but if they will, I'm like "5 people less, too bad they were my family, but well, I can have a lot of money"

  • @goldbullet50 Tell them that to their face. But as I said before, you think you have the solution to the worlds overpopulation problem, then perhaps you should lead by example rather than bitching about it.

  • You bastards. Where do you get the idea to impose this crap on others? Do you care that children see this? Bastards.

For the record, no seat belt would have saved anyone from a head on collision.

  • @ironhorzmn Cars have come a LONG way in terms of safety and engineering marvels to allow head on collisions to be survivable. Its a shame we dont make teens and children view footage of car accidents or the aftermath of real ones for hours on end as part of passing a driving test, maybe we would have a lot more cautious drivers.

  • @Shyhalu No seatbelt would have protected anyone in those cars from death or grave injury. None.

  • @ironhorzmn Prove it. Prove head on collisions can not be survived. And then prove that seatbelts do absolutely nothing to help the situation.

  • You bastards. Where do you get the idea to impose this crap on others? Do you care that children see this? Bastards.

  • why is a seatbelt going to stop your arteries

  • @jackocooper1 the load limiting effects of the seatbelt can help to deccelerate you, rather than suddenly hitting the steering wheel, whilst the internal organs continue to moce anteriorly towards the potentially sharp edges of fractured ribs.

  • @jackocooper1 o so seatbelts dont just stop dead

  • Erikdavis33 has the right not to wear his seatbelt. Let natural selection sort him out.

  • even wearing a seat belt can cause that same injury.

  • @jesusfreak123123 of course it could, but the idea would be you wouldn't hit the steering wheel at all with a properly adjusted seatbelt and distance between the sterring wheel and seat.

  • :| dat sux......y didnt he juss take those 3 secondz 2 put OHN a seatbelt??

  • I always wear a seat belt but to me i don't like the idea of air bags. i crashed into a ditch and my airbags didn't go out and it would-av been worse if they went out

  • Its takes 3 seconds to put on your seat belt. And those 3 seconds can mean your life.

  • like i said i dont wear seatbelt and i crash my card daily and i walk off without a scratch
