Jobs? If he was serious he would not be passing acts like the FSMA. By restricting a small business, a small farm, in revenue he is helping them create jobs? No! Also, taxing banks will not do anything but have them deflect this cost back onto us. We must always remember that companies do not pay taxes, they pass this "cost" (because it is a cost to their bottom line) onto consumers. Companies have to make money to exist and they will on exist to make money.

The Food Safety Modernization Act you just passed, Obama, will limit a better future for small farmers by capping their revenues at 500,000 dollars or they face cost restrictive features they must implement. That means profits will be much less because most small farmers have other employees who they pay and want to pay well. These small farmers are trying to re-strengthen America and FSMA is deterring them from this goal.

for the state to cover the loss. As a homeowner I appreciate this but as a mother with school aged children I worry. As a sister of one who works in Mental Health I worry. As a wife of one who works in education & health care I worry. As a mother in law to one in community college I worry. Taxes take a little from all of us ( more from some of us) and provide jobs and infrastructure for many, many more. I fear we want the moon but want it gift wrapped w/out cost.

One important matter the U.S.A needs to focus on is the overwhelming and rising student loan debt. Remember that the generation in college right now will be running the world in 10 years -15 years. Students are beginning to avoid college due to the debt that are stuck with upon graduation and a jobless marketplace. Individuals make drastic decisions with these stresses over there heads and some decisions lead to life changing events. Students need a Student loan bailout to stimulate the economy.

Literally when tuition at four years start costing what I would pay in rent, then it is just not worth it to me to even want to finish out. If colleges are going to keep charging higher rates, then the education needs to be geared towards specializing in key courses and not padding the curriculum.

I cannot speak for all of us in the higher tax bracket but on behalf of my family I can say that we are happy to pay taxes that go to funding education and health care. Both my husband and I work in the health care industry and we are well aware that the average tax payer is already bailing out the many who are denied insurance or cannot afford it. My state, Texas, is currently facing it's catastrophic deficit and we have been all about small gov for years.
