  • 1 year ago, first day of watching lost...... walkabout episode. And thus the epiphany that Lost is amazing

  • Agreed, everything was put together so well. The music and the situation is so moving, I remember tearing up at this part. This was TV the way it's MEANT to be!

  • This is such a sad scene :( John Locke is a character I feel sry for, he tried to live a normal life, even with such a condition but everyone treated him specially when he just wanted to be treated like a normal person. R.I.P John Locke, your are the key that unlocked this shows potential.

  • I miss John Locke like Hell

  • Music piece: "Destiny"

    Composer: Michael Giacchino

    Michael Giacchino is a genius

  • when I watched this for the first time on tv...gosh, it was so emotional. I think you could've filled a whole tub with my tears ;)

  • this lives amongs the best 5 episodes

  • My favourite part of whole season one!

  • he just woke up after a plane crash, people are dead and screaming around him. yet he's the happiest man in the world at that moment

  • LOST: The greatest TV Series of All Time.

    I Miss you :(

  • that was it?

  • i love this scene..

  • such a nice scene, the music makes it so much better

  • Don't tell him what he's can't do!

  • I remember when I first saw this scene...FEELING IT, the whole thing, I felt it in my heart, pounding, the music, the amazement of Locke. It was emotionally exhausting and satisfaying at the same time.

  • I can only imagine what beautiful thoughts go through a person's mind when they listen to this. What I imagine is that anything in life is possible. this is for me the most beautiful piece of music in television history. Lost is without a doubt the most ambitious show I have ever seen and probably will ever see. I take pride in that I am a lost fan. I didnt want it to end, but I am happy with the ending. peace

  • Namasté LOST

  • so brillient i will misses this show

  • Most shows aren't even half this ambitious in their story telling.

  • ''don't tell me what i can't do!, this my destiny!!''

    this words are mythics!

  • anybody know the ost of this clip?

  • @theUnwingedSquirrel it's called locke'd out again

  • @theUnwingedSquirrel Locke'd Out Again

  • Stunning!

  • one of the best scenes in the history of history!!

  • I agree, Lost already had me from the first episode, but this part blew me away with its epicness. Speaking of, the music in this part gets stuck in my head all the time, does it have a proper name?

  • yea i was the 108th rating

  • amazing. beautiful.

  • Mon préférer mon moment ...

  • Best LOST moment

    no doubt

    DON'T TELL ME WHAT I CAN'T DO!

  • probably John Locke has so many that u dont know wich one is the best is the best character!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • It's scary how he made his own destiny before he was even born. What a cruel catch 22.

  • Yeah, this is the best lost scene in my opinion.

  • fantastic lost-moment. the revelation of john

  • Totally agree one of the best scenes from lost.Lockes destiny was to miss that trip and be on oceanic 815.Which suited him down to the ground.

  • Don't ever tell me what I can't do. Ever!!!

So sad... so powerful. He was creating the base of Lost in this episode.

  • I already loved the show from the pilot, but when I saw this episode, that is when I realized how Epic this show was going to be.....,.

  • why did he say he's going to sydney? shouldn't he have been travelling to LA since that is the flight that crashed?

  • He wasn't in sydney at the time. My guess is since they're taking a bus to their destination, they were no where close to sydney. Probably in the western part of the country somewhere.

  • He's in Melbourne...you can see it written on the side of the glass window of the tour agency. I imagine they sent him back to Sydney to get him a flight to LA.

  • Lock is my second favorite character in the show. Poor dude... seemed like life treated him cruel before he landed on the island. Guy was always down on his luck. The world was against him. =(

  • anyone else notice it ends with the same shot as the last episode of season 5? locke smiling bhing the flames....foreshadowing perhaps?

  • Huh...cool observation!

  • this episode made me a life long fan...

  • amazing

  • best episode ever

  • THE SONG IS CALLED

    LOCKE'D OUT AGAIN

  • magic

  • Great scene indeed, great moment, great director. great actor...and muisic. It has been probably the best theme untill season 4s "There"s is no place like home"

  • It's funny how Locke is the only one who's actually happy at the crash.

  • dont forget walt.

he likes, well did like the island

thats why he burnt the raft

  • One day someone told me that Prison Break was better... no comments. How can a PB be in any way better than this masterpiece? Both series will end sooner or later, but PB will be forgotten. Lost will be remembered forever.

  • FUCK YEAH!!!!

  • walkabout made this show a must see for me...

i watched the other episodes half - heartedly

then i saw this one and i was hooked...i almost broke into tears seeing this e[psode...

  • This is when John Locke became my favorite character.... So i guess the seasn 6 premiere is my 100th episode anniversarry of John Locke being my fav!

  • "The Variable" was the 100th episode, and that was about two weeks ago.

  • Yes, but this is the fourht episode, therefore the 104th episode is the 100th anniversary of this one. Get it?

  • Okay, I got it now.

  • same man. same.

  • Only know Locke is dead.... so no 100th anniversary for him i guess.

  • This Island provides opportunity, on this Island we have a chance to start again.... Imagine, this scene was 5 YEARS ago, I and I still feel like: the others are coming, open the hatch Jack, it's your destiny! LOST is THE BEST SHOW EVER EVER EVER

  • this scene made me a fanboy, and will never miss an episode.

this episode still brings back memories.

  • Hehe. He thinks the Island magically healed his legs :) Not weird really, considering that we all did.

Now we know, and I wonder if he will figure it out soon as well, that it's only 'cos the Island is placed in a previous moment in the timeline. I don't remember all the dates, but let's say John lost feeling of his legs in year 2000. When the plane crashed on the Island, the time "changed" from outside world of 2004, to Island time of 1996. In 1996, John was normal!

  • than why can he walk in 2007? when the time is 2007

  • He couldn't walk in 2007... In the episode Life and Death of Jeremy Bentham, Locke was paralyzed in his legs then too :) Remember, before turning the wheel, he fell on his legs, which made his legs paralyzed once more, so that he wouldn't be able to walk after turning the wheel. Time correcting itself?

  • but i was talking about when he was resurrected on the island. since the time is 30 years later in 2007. and your reason that he can walk on the island is that they were in 1996 and locke wasnt paralyzed at that time so he could walk. but he was paralyzed before 2007 so unless they are tricking us...ugh i confused myself

  • hes physically been transported throught time, other then subconciously with the rat "elloese" (or watever). Locke, Jack, kate, sawyer, they all have traveled through time physically, they themselves have not changed just the demension around them.

  • Oh damn... ah well.

  • John couldnt walk in the Jeremy Bentham episode because he got a compound fracture from falling. You know, the kind of fracture where the bone come through your skin? Yeah, he wasn't paralyzed, just in pain.

  • Oh, so the fact that he keeps fucking up his legs while traveling through time (shot by Ethan, fell down the well (hey, a rhyme!)) is all just a coincidence then, is that what you're saying?

  • D:

No, you said he paralyzed his legs by falling on his legs. I was just saying that he broke his leg.

  • Well thank you for that extremely important correction :)

    (diediedie!)

  • Alright, lets not get all hot and bothered over a damn television show.

  • is a beautiful miracle lost the best series ever

  • Jacob?

  • Best moment in Lost and the best character in Lost. John Locke is the best!

  • This episode sold me to lost

  • probably my favorite seen of lost so memorizing and powerful truly amazing

  • Lost still lives on to capture the hearts and minds of the audience and this was one of it's greatest moments. Long Live Lost, the best show ever!

  • this video is a little slower somehow

  • great music. great acting. great show.

    Terry O'Quinn deserves another Emmy.

  • this is my all time fav moment in LOST.

  • This was the episode that got me hook on Lost!

  • This is the exact moment where I realized what Lost was truly capable of. Respect.

  • Same here. This was THE moment.

  • i feel the exact same way. such a powerful and chilling scene. Music is great.

  • i remember when this show started for years ago. It started off so great (and still) but the magic of the first season cannot be relived

  • yeah i love the music playin when he gets up for the first time, really sumthin else

  • My favourite scene from the entire series. Truly great.

  • this scene hurt me emotionally when i first saw it

  • the greatest moment in tv history

had me in tears the other day

and i am red blooded man

    the fucking best

i believe in a man called john locke

  • we are in kuwait arabian gulf we love lost

and we love locke soooooo much

this music the best in lost

    thanks for vedio

  • this is hands down the best, most moving scene of all four seasons.

  • I almost cried when I watched this scene, it's so brilliant and moving.

  • I still remember watching this scene on TV back in '04...it took me a while to realize how teary my eyes were...definitely the single most powerful scene in television history...for me, anyway.

  • does anyone know if we can download the music ?

  • yeha you can seatch for michael gicchiano on rapid share or megaoupload and you will find it

the song its called locke'd out again from michael giacchino

    its great ;D

  • Great scene..I wonder how Lost will be perceived 50years from now

  • There is a reason why this scene is so great. The Acting, The Music, The Writing, The Direcing, and the big revelation that John Locke was in a wheelchair... Everything in this scene is PERFECT.

  • thank you for posting this,

this scene gave me chills when i 1st saw it.

  • Terry O'Quinn received a 2005 Emmy nomination for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series for his performance in this episode

David Fury received a 2005 Emmy nomination for Outstanding Writing for a Drama Series for his work on this episode.

  • This is when we discover that Lost is much more than a story of a island, crash and monsters.

  • Someone knows the music ?

  • This is one of the greatest Lost moments ever.

  • the sorid soul, on the paven road. the godless wonder, whose painted gold. i stand beside him until he walks, and faith will guide him when he can't talk.

  • what da ya mean godles wonder???

  • i felt so bad fr him

  • I don't know any moment on lost, or any other tv show that can top this.

This scene is so powerful...i'm lost for words.

  • This scene is what made me love this show to this day, i remember seeing it and i was just like..."omg wow" and i said that for so many reasons, because it was sad, because it was so well done, because everything just fit perfectly, and this is also when i decided locke was my fav character. awesome.

  • This is definitely an all time great Lost moment, and still gives me chills, but it was beaten by the season 3 finale.

Kate walking out of the shadows might be the best moment in television history.

  • completely right, that's just how I think about it. This scene gave me chills, but the season 3 finale kept me awake for weeks!

  • "This is destiny, this is destiny, this is my destiny... I'm supposed to do this dammit!"

Even from the beginning, I think he accepts the whole conceot of higher purpose. I do like Locke... he's welcome respite from man of science and pratical character Jack. I do hope he finds what he's looking for...

  • agreed

  • best lost scene ever, still hasn't been beat yet.

  • the moment that made LOST

  • This is the moment that hooked me on LOST for good. Best episode ever.

  • Me too.

  • Total chills. Doesn't matter how many times I watch it.

  • Its actually the reason why I began to watch lost. First three episodes were good, but the end of this one, I was like, what the hell, I want to know the secret and averything else.

Locke is still my favorite character no matter what.

  • A Maricle while in Disaster....so moving
