can some plz tell me, are the gundam pilots epic badasses like the ones from Wing or whinely little bitches like the one from seed, destiny and so on?
@Tsunat3z in a way they have redone the old gundam series. many points in the old series were revisited such as a colony being dropped on earth in chars counter attack and again in gundam wing. the eruption of an autonomous peace keeping force like the titans in zeta and the a-laws in 00. i understand that you mean for them to make the same series with slightly redesigned mobile suits but in a way they've done that without repeating the series.
if done completely with CG, there will no longer be the beautifully animated grand master funnel attacks, no longer be badass shading, no longer be soft shadows, no longer be macross missile maccacre and mobile suits will fly defying physics the entire time.
i rather have godly companies like gainax, who CARES about each moment of their shows, to do my old school gundams.

I like them both and am planning on watching Gundam W for the sake of satisfying my curiosity, especially since many people say it's a good Gundam series....
Wing is overrated, it's good,but it's not the best. I'd suggest you look on wikiapedia of all of the Gundam anime. And watch them all in order of release (expect things like SD gundam). You'll understand Gundam more and know how the older ones inspire the newer ones. Oh and DO NOT WATCH Seed and Seed Destiny, they are the wost Gundam animes ever. That's why I avoid them.

IMO the worst series is 00. It had the poorest characters/story/plot out of all of them. Yeah, it had good animation, but that's all it had.
I do rate Gundam X as one of my all time favorites, because it has amazing characters that are distinct, unique and interesting to watch. Instead of GX retelling the same story like other gundam it gave us an interesting what-if scenario which was also cool

@shadowtsunami I disagree. 00 had a poorly executed story with too many superfluous characters. Most of the characters contributed nothing to the story. A prime example is Graham Acre. 00 fans love the guy, but what did he really contribute to the story? In the second season he literally had no purpose. Same with Saji and Louise in the first season (as well as most of the second season, and especially the movie). Most of the characters were there to die and the rest were copies from other shows.
@productNine Graham Acre was suppose to be the Char of double o, as you can see he got infatuated with trying to beat the gundam. Louise and Saji role was to see the other side of war, and how the innocent gets caught up in a war torn society. That's how double 0 came together. Most characters died? Only Lockon (First one), Christina, and that one other guy died from season 1, the rest that died where the villains. Did you see ZZ, Turn A or Victory those where poorly executed by far.
@shadowtsunami See, this shows me that when you watched the show you weren't really paying attention. That you can't even recall the characters that died just proves how useless they were. They were put there so they could die, and then we are supposed to feel sad even though the writers didn't take the time to build up an emotional connection between said characters and the audience. It was bad writing.
I know what those characters are supposed to be, but when does any of that get fleshed out?

At least it didn't suicide off its characters Shakespeare-style in the last two or three episodes. True, not all the characters got all the development time they probably had a right to, but EVERY single character contributed SOMETHING to the over-all plot, there were almost no throwaways. Everyone affected something or someone else.
