the reason your hear the bass is because this is split or isolated or it was before editing the reasont here is no bass is because it soiunded to much like lead so when kirk wa splaying after he would cut to a new section there bassist would still be playing what would sound like what kirk was playing with the lead so it was edited out

wow this sounds fucking awesome. the only downside of making that double bass lick that is present at the breakdown in the actual song, more common throughout the song, even though it sounds freaking cool, it takes away the awesome of that machine gun lick that is so famous for the crescendo of the song.
