I drove these sweepers for the DSNY. I loved driving sweepers because in the summer time while the other san workers were humping garbage in 98 degree heat , I was freezing inside the cab of the sweeper...ROTFLMAO!!!!
Drove behind a sweeper in LA, sweeping the trash (lots of it, local people do not practice trash can use, trash in the street, sidewalk) from the gutter into the street. Called sanitation, they explained to me, "that is what street sweepers do, sweep the trash out of the gutter". I told them sweepers used to sweep trash up, what is the point of sweeping it a few feet away? Big sigh, sound of contempt, beeecaauuusee trash in the gutter goes down the storm drains and causes floooodddinnng.
