  • Ok so im a contractor for comcast i work upwards of 80 hours a week and have no social life you ass holes dont understand what thats like and as for wow and u-verse that shits garbage and outdated how good your service is depends on the installer and the location your at (end of line is shitty) also the town some towns have better signal due to better head ends and this shit happens to techs all the time usually in the truck in front of the house while you wait for some inconsiderate

  • I just got the bill for the second month and it's $106/mo. So far, so good. The second part of this promo is that it only goes up $20 for the second year, still waaayyyy better than the $162 I was paying. I don't want to advertise for ANY company, but if anyone is interested, msg me.

  • I don't know where all of you live, but I live in Daly City , Ca. and I just found a company that has one hell of a deal. I got Cable, (over 220+channels) High Speed Internet 50MB/sec,(yes...Fifty) and Unlimited phone. I paid a $20 install fee + first months service ($126 total) when the installer finished the job.

  • It sucks that happened to you. But I so sick of hearing comcast customers complain about high prices. I have to get directv because where I live we don't have any big cable companies. I pay 2 1/2 to 3 times the amount comcast customers pay for the same service. Stop complaining about prices.

    I do not think you know what you are talking about. I just have digital cable, internet, and phone. I pay 169.18 a month. If your paying 2 or 3 times more than this than you are just as dum as I am. I decided next month to stop being a victim of these people and get another provider. Also by the way, this is just the second year so called promotional rate. Just giving you something to think about.

  • i have fallen asleep in customers houses before for like 10 minutes completely by accident. I was way too over tired and way too over worked, some people need to understand that communications technicians are working on a cracked whip. pay is acceptable and more than enough to support a family, but the looooooonnnggg dreadful hours of 14hrs a day 6 days a week starts to not become worth it

  • We have direct tv and its fine and all but one time this nasty old guy came and my dog bark at him and he has something mean to say thats the first thing 2nd we need cable in my room for the PC so we ask if we can run a cable over in the acttic so he gos up comes down and say no BULLSHIT i went up there my self and I could run the dam cable so I did end of story. I know thats a lame story but man what an asshole i think he told me to get better control of my dog LOL my dog is fine.

  • I worked at Pearl ms ( before it b/came jacktown ms) tv support for about a year, and madison mississhitty internet support. FROM EMPLOYEE and regular customer PERSONAL experience. it's one big cluster #$%$k of variables of causes of problems. 25% of their techs either dont know what they're doing or DONT believe in attention to detail, 70% of the call center clerks are black females doing the head bobble thing saying " maaa maaam...sir sir...reset your box"

  • Wow!!  Harsh people. Very harsh. I'm a 15 year cable technician. The guy got fired, and probably not soon enough. Very embarrassing for Comcast. Not to mention the technician's that bust their asses every day and are dedicated to making the customer experience as good as possible. Is it just me or does the cable company always seem to get blamed for faulty equipment? Broken equipment sounds like a QC or engineering issue at Motorola, or whoever manufactured that equipment.

Try working in a pet hoarders house, or going to the house of the guy who thought he could run cable. lets see then we have the people who hoot and hollar and you get there and put the tv on chnl 3 or just plug the box in. I would say customers cause about 80 percent of the problems and we have to talk them back off the ledge and fix what was screwed up and smile. Im just saying walk a mile in a cable persons shoes

    I get burnt out too, climbing pole after pole in the dead of summer, climbing in 120 degree attics, and repeating the same script over and over to customers who dont know how to work their remotes....but there's no way I'd fall asleep on the job.

  • I stumbled upon this 3 year long running diatribe of selfish, thoughtless complaints and pronouncements about the quality of virtually every entertainment provider and I find it appalling. Most posts appear as though they were written by functionally illiterate narcissists without a shred of basic human kindness in their souls. This thread is a tragic commentary on the morals and manners of our society. All but a few of you spew pure vitriol with little or no real reason or rationale. Why?

  • WOW sucks the reason why you have no problems with WOW is because they don't have as much content as Comcast does. Less content equals less signal which in turn equals less damage to wires and splitters. So will you have less problems with WOW yes but you will also have less service and lower internet speeds. I am a WOW technician but i use Comcast because its the best service mainly because its the oldest cable company in MI.

  • I'm a cable tech and folks don't understand what it is we go through DAILY, let alone our schedules, long hours and the meaningless politics with the "number's" game we have to deal with...all for you to watch TV.

  • This is why we switched to AT&T U-Verse, and when our phone, internet, and cable brakes. All we have to do is flip a switch and it's back on. Also on Comcast the internet for us went to horrible, to great for 10 seconds, to medium, to horrible, to medium, to horrible, etc. So I could never play games online do to my horrible connection... Comcast is just bad in general. I really recommend switching to all those people with Comcast.

  • I am a HVAC tech and i will be honest i have fallen asleep for about a half an hour before next to a furnace. But if the customer woke me up i would be so apologetic and sorry for doing it, not cop an attitude and storm out of their house.

  • @br3edage Well not anymore anyways. I am a Programmer/Analyst at my school now. Call center gigs suck. You get paid shit and you get treated like shit by the customers and your boss. The customer wants customer service you aren't allowed to provide them (at UVerse, you can't take longer than 10 minutes on a call). Sometimes things happen that are out of your control, and the customer still blames you. If you want to judge, work one month in a call center. I dare ya.

  • @br3edage Well I wasn't a Sales Rep. I was a Tier 1 working for Volt (and later went perm with UVerse, didn't stay though). Yeah the Sales Reps didn't know shit from shinola. They told customers "Oh yes! You can have DVR in all your rooms (this when the service was fairly new)" or the every famous "Sure! Every TV in the house can use the HD". And then you and I got to break the bad news to them that they were lied to. And the black outs...oh god the black outs.

  • Not that unusual. A Time Warner loser in Raleigh asked me for gas money that he would "repay" the next day, because his supervisor was across town with the gas card and he was out of gas. True story. I said "no." I also saw a loser with Aardvark termite in Raleigh asleep in his truck when he was supposed to be under my house doing the annual inspection. I've since switched companies. Minimum wage--you get what you pay for.
