Aaron Spelling Was The Executive Producer Of The Rogues Before He Would Go On To Starsky And Hutch And Charlie's Angels As Well As The Love Boat And Beverly Hills 90210. Aaron Spelling RIP
@GOOSEYGOOSE9 Spelling worked at Four Star Television. The Rogues was produced by Four Star Television. And that's as close as the connection gets. Spelling was not involved with The Rogues.
What a show! Niven, Boyer and Gig Young, great witty scripts and wonderful Nelson Riddle music. It's a shame that it has vanished from the scene. I understand 20th Century Fox owns the rights. Please, Fox, release this on DVD!
Can you post the whole episode? I'm sure it's in the public domain and no one would care, except us who are curious to see this show. Thanks. I'm watching Algeriers and just read Boyers bio and ran across this show, would be very interested in seeing one with Niven in it also. I've got lots of obscure TV shows but I cant find a program to convert the files to thats free, if anyone has any suggestions? I tried format factory but the video freezes. If I can get a program I have some cool stuff.
This is from the episode "Mr. White's Christmas", which, for some unknown reason, wasn't originally telecast until April 4, 1965! Incidentally, Larry Hagman and John McGiver (portraying virtually the same character) appeared opposite each other again in the 1966 "I DREAM OF JEANNIE" episode, "Jeannie Breaks the Bank". By the spring of '65, NBC had already decided to cancel the series, as ratings for CBS' "CANDID CAMERA" and "WHAT'S MY LINE?", opposite "THE ROGUES", were higher...
One of my favourite tv shows of all time - David Niven, Charles Boyer and Gig Young - they were terrific and the scripts were really funny - sort of a funny Mission Impossible. They conned the con men. The best eoisode was when they tried to palm off a lost work of Shakespears - it was masterful.
Lovely to watch 3 minutes again from The Rogues. Just sad this is the only clip on the tube... hope you can post more from this wonderful and funny 1965-series.

It might not be in the Public Domain, as the Four Star shows are now owned by Fox.

This TV show was the best series ever aired. Nothing else even came close. I have spoken.

Both Boyer & Gig Young comited suicide just a few months apart from each other in 1978.
